Oh I love these birds by Altenew..they are from Birds of a feather stamp set...I really feel that a colour layering stamp set adds so many possibilities and so much ease for the card maker/crafter....and since it's a thank you card for a friend,I used two of the three birds from this set that faced each other...
I created the background panel first with some Distress Oxide inks and Altenew cube builder stencil...I have used the following shades of ink - hickory smoke, frayed burlap and peeled paint and I didn't use the stencil to build the cube background but just the simple diamond grid...I splattered some water for effect and also used a stitched rectangle edge die to emboss a border on this panel before adhering it to a plain white card base...
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I used various Altenew inks to stamp the birds...for the first bird I used minty mint, pinkalicious, galactic stream and rocky shore and for the second one I have used deep iris, maple yellow, orange cream and rocky shore....I then die cut these with the coordinating dies and die cut the branches from white cardstock and placed them on my card front...
I stamped the sentiment using black ink and added a few gold sequins to embellish my card...
