Heart Card For The Flower Challenge #19

It has been a while since I made a shaped card,so I was quite happy to participate in 'The Flower Challenge #19 in which the theme is 'shaped cards'...although I have made a heart shaped card for this challenge,I did not use red colour for the heart card base and/or top layer since I thought it would take the focus away from the softly coloured die cut flowers...

I did spend quite a lot of time figuring out the layout of flowers for my card but was quite happy with the end result...I think I will try out a few more shaped cards later sometime...

I started by die cutting two large hearts to create the heart shaped card base and then covered one of them with mermaid lagoon oxide ink...this was the card front...I also applied some Distress glaze on this panel so that the ink does not rub off or get smudged...I scored 1/2" from the top on the second heart and adhered it behind this  one and my card base was ready..

Next,I die cut a smaller heart for the front panel and sponged some cracked pistachio oxide ink...I die cut some flowers and leaves and then coloured them in with various oxide inks - twisted citron, wild honey, picked raspberry, shaded lilac, salty ocean and squeezed lemonade...I also sprinkled some water for effect and then placed them on the top layer....I used adhesive foam squares under some of the flowers for a bit of dimension...I then used some craft foam underneath this front panel before adhering it to the card base...

I stamped the sentiment label using red ink and die cut that with the coordinating die and placed it on my card and then used some clear confetti sequins to embellish my card...

Thank you so much for your visit today...I'm glad you stopped by my blog...Hope you will have a happy and wonderful day ahead...!!
