Happy Bird Day - Paper Smooches March Challenge

I usually try and stay away from sketch challenges mainly because I find them a bit hard to create for...and I end up mostly confused whether the sketch has to be followed as is or we can change a few things around...and as you can see, even in today's challenge my card has a portrait orientation instead of the landscape one in the sketch...my card wasn't looking good that way so I took the risk..!!

Here is the sketch for the March Challenge over at the Paper Smooches blog...

I first die cut one end of a wide strip of printed DSP  using a stitched edge die and then a narrower and shorter white strip....I embossed tiny circles on the background of this white strip using the cross stitch die from Paper Smooches...I randomly stamped red hearts on this strip and the sentiment as well and set these panels aside to prepare the front panel of my card...

I decided to use a plain black die cut top panel and added a thin strip of bright pink glitter cardstock on one side before adhering it to the card base...I added the printed panel first and then used some craft foam to elevate and adhere the second panel....

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the flamingo and coloured it in before cutting it out and adhering it to my card front using a few different heights of adhesive foam squares...and finally I added a few red Nuvo drops to embellish my card..
