There is a new 'inspired by words' challenge at the
Time Out Challenges Blog and I was really inspired by guest designer Carol's card for this challenge...I also wanted to try out the
Embossed Impressions technique as shown by Jennifer McGuire in one of her tutorials recently...
I started by embossing two of the feather dies from Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers Die set using watermark ink onto a watercolour cardstock front panel and then quickly heat embossing those with gold embossing powder...I then used my Crayola Fine Line Markers and a waterbrush to colour them in...
Once dry,I masked these feathers and then splattered a bit of colour and some gold paint on the front panel...to use the same colours for the splatters,I simply scribbled the same crayola markers I coloured in the feathers with,on an acrylic block and mixed them with a bit of water...
I then die cut a feather from gold foil cardstock and adhered it to the panel before adding this panel to a plain white card base...I die cut the word Thank you from some coloured glitter cardstock and layered it with a white die cut before adhering them onto the card front...
I also adhered a thin strip of the same glitter cardstock on one side of the front panel...
To embellish my card I have used a few Nuvo Jewel Drops...
