Two Cute Piggy Cards - My 500th Blog Post

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today...it's my 500th blog post...it's been two years of blogging for me and I'm amazed at how encouraging and lovely the cardmakers all over the world are and am thankful to all...

Now to the cards I'm sharing today...the piggy stamp I've used are from set that has been aptly named 'Sow Much Cuteness' by MFT Stamps....all the images are super cute and the sentiments are great as well...today I'm sharing two cards that I have made with this set..

For my first card I chose a white card base and a die cut dark blue top layer...I then used a self made cloud stencil and white pigment ink to create the cloud background on the blue top layer...this technique was shown by Jennifer McGuire in one of her tutorials - 6 Quick Stencil Techniques and it has taken me so long to try it out..

I then die cut a grassy border from lime green cardstock and adhered it to the base of the top layer...I stamped the sentiment using watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then adhered this top layer to  the card base...

For my second card I used a white card base as well as a white top layer....to create the scene of a jumping piggy on this card I first die cut clouds from blue and white glitter cardstock as well as a rainbow from white cardstock(which my younger daughter coloured in using Distress Inks)...once these were adhered to the top layer,I used a large stitched rectangle stencil to cut off the excess before adhering it to the card base...

Now all I had to do was add the coloured in piggy image using foam squares, stamp the sentiment and add a cute butterfly and my card was ready...
