Hello

Image
To create today's card I have used three stamps sets from three different stamp companies...the little birds are from Clearly Besotted, the atlas stamp is by Amy Tangerine and the big hello word is from an Avery Elle stamp set...if you are not restricted by brands etc. then you can mix and match to create something unique all the time...how great is that...!!

Best Daughter In The World

Image
I decided to use White and Gold as the theme for my card today and this is what I created...
The card base is made from gold cardstock and the top layer has been cut to size from white cardstock...to create the background on the top layer,I splattered a bit of metallic gold paint and set it aside to dry...

You Can Always Lean On Me

These happy hedgehogs from MFT are adorable aren't they??I just need to add them to a card and it instantly adds cuteness to it...this time I made a simple one layer card using this stamp set with the sentiment banner on top...

Thank You

I can't even remember how I made backgrounds for cards until I started using Distress Inks....and now I can't stop using them...the best part is that even if everyone used the same colours, not two cards would be similar...I have been watching videos for the newly released Distress Oxide ink pads...and they look even more amazing...let's see when I will be able to get those...my birthday probably.. :)

You Make Me Oh So Happy

Image
Unless I'm a hundred percent sure that something is completely ruined and cannot be used in any other project,I will not throw it away...it does take a bit more time to figure out a way to incorporate it into a new project but I find this quite fun too....mostly...ha ha..!! ;)

Just Saying Hello

The 'Beautiful Day' stamp set by Altenew always gives such great results...whether you choose to do the stamp layering with it or simply use the outline stamps...and without much effort you will create a wonderful element for your card or project...

Wonderful Magical Birthday Wishes

Image
Most traditional Christmas stamp sets can only be used once a year but these days there is a lot of choice and some stamp companies have such greats sets which can be used for other occasions as well...so for my card today I have re-purposed the Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairies stamp set and made a birthday card using it...

Just For You

Image
For today's card I decided to use only watercolour pencils for the background as well as to colour in...it was just an idea I had and thankfully I got good results... :)
On a plain white card base,I die cut a watercolour paper top layer using a cross stitched rectangle die....on this top layer,I randomly scribbled some green shades and used a water brush to spread out the colours to cover most of it...
I then stamped the flower vase and the flower images on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in with watercolour pencils and a water brush as well...once the images were dry,I cut them out and placed them onto the card....I have also used the Spectrum Noir shimmer pen on these images...
Lastly,I have added the stamped sentiment and a few sequins to embellish this card...
Thank you for your visit today...I'm so glad you stopped by my blog...Have a wonderful day ahead...!!

A Home Is Made Of Love And Dreams

Image
I really like the quote from the stamp set I have used to make this card....It's a stamp set by Stampendous called Family Home...all the images in this stamp set have a very different look...
I started by cutting tan coloured cardstock to size for the card base and white cardstock for the top panel...on the white panel I stamped the sentiment and the home image and masked it to add a couple of tree stamps beside and behind the house...
Once the image was coloured in,I sponged in some weathered wood distress ink on the edges and stamped a few hearts using red ink as well....
Finally,I die cut a thin frame from silver foil cardstock and placed it on the top layer...
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today...Happy crafting...!!

Gear Up For A Great Birthday

Image
I'm sure there must be other card makers like me who struggle with making cards for boys or men....for me it's mainly because I get attracted to flowers or cute images and bright colours and find it easy to create with them...so I bought the bionic bots stamp set by MFT specifically to make cards for boys...and guess what was the very first card I made with it...??A  love themed card that I shared last month - Nuts Over Bolts About You :) :p
So I had a good laugh at myself and sat down to make this card....the card base is plain white and I die cut the top layer from watercolor cardstock using an Avery Elle pierced rectangle die....I stamped all the bionic bots images randomly and coloured them in lightly using grey, red and yellow watercolour pencils and my Dove blender pen...and filled in the rest of the top layer with a light blue colour...

I stamped the sentiment on two small die cut rectangles using blue ink and before adhering them onto the card,I added three gears that I…

Two Cards Using Cut Outs Die

Image
I have never tried out word cut out dies before and today I'm sharing the first couple of cards I have made using them...I made the second card(the red and white one)first but it seemed a bit too simple and then my younger daughter came along and suggested that I make a shaker card...so I did... :)
For my first card I chose a black cardstock to make the card base and a plain bright yellow top layer....I simply placed the die where I wanted the cut out and ran it through my Cuttlebug...once that was done,I created the shaker element by adding a piece of acetate and black craft foam behind the top layer for the shaker element...after adding some bright coloured sequins inside the shaker 'well' I adhered it to the card base...
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the cute birds from Clearly Besotted and coloured them in before cutting them out and placing them onto the card..I also adhered a few sequins to embellish the card...

Here is a close up shot of the shaker ele…

Cute Buddies Birthday Card

Image
So this year I have planned to work a bit more on my colouring in...I am trying to learn as much as I can from watching tutorial videos by various cardmakers and practicing what I learn...for years I tried using aqua brushes for colouring in images with watercolour pencils etc. but I just couldn't get a hang of it...so I finally got myself a Dove blender pen just to see is that would make it a bit easy for me...and luckily...it did..!!
For today's card I chose a plain white card base and stamped the little confetti stamps all over the front using various coloured dye inks....I then used the largest cross stitched rectangle die to emboss the edges of the card...
On a separate die cut panel,I stamped the little boy and girls and coloured them in using Derwent inktense pencils and my Dove blender pen...I then used Peerless watercolours to paint the background....once the panel was dry,I stamped the sentiment and adhered some craft foam behind it before adding it to the card base…
