Thanks A Bunch

Image
Every now and then I challenge myself to make a card which is not too colourful and looks classy...as I know that even though I love making them, not everyone likes bright cards...I was very careful with this card and quite happy with the result as well...
The card base is plain white and I have cute plain green cardstock at an angle for the top layer...I also embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level quilted embossing folder and adhered it to the card base...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the Altenew Dahlia blossoms...it's a layering stamp set and saves you the time that you would spend on colouring in...once stamped,I cut these flowers and leaves out and placed them on the card...
To embellish the card I have used bottle green and ebony black Nuvo crystal drops..
Thank you for visiting my blog today...Have a lovely & blessed day ahead....Happy crafting...!!

In Case You Didn't Know...

Image
Sometimes even when you plan so much or try too hard, things don't go the way you want them to....but sometimes things fall in place so easily that you're left wondering if it actually happened...I had a rough idea about the card I'm sharing today but it came together so quickly and without any goof ups that I spent quite a bit of time after trying to see if I had done everything right or not.... :)
The card base is plain white and I have used watercolor paper for the top layer....first I sponged in some distress inks for the background and used green die ink to stamp the grass...I then die cut a few birch trees, used a bit of distress inks on them and laced them on the card...i also placed a couple of birds on the trees...
I stamped and coloured in the cute hedgehog images on a separate piece of cardstock, cut them out and then placed them on the card..I also stamped the sentiment above those two...
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today...Have a w…

What could I do for you?

Image
I am not Super-woman or have any magical powers but there a few people in my life for whom I know that I'd do almost anything in their time of need...they are the silent ones who stand by me and offer unconditional support that too without influencing any of my decisions...
The card I'm sharing today has a plain white card base and a watercolor paper top layer....I then used distress inks to create the background including a bit of masking to create the heavily clouded sky
Using the Lawn fawn hillside border dies and some brown and kraft cardstock,I die cut the hilly base...so once the top layer was ready I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a stitched rectangle die...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the dragon, the prince and the princess and cut them out before placing them on the card...I also added a die cut tree next to the princess...
Finally I added the sentiment on a tag...added a bit of bakers twine and adhered it to the card...

Look Who's Turning Three

Image
Going through all my printed cardstock,I found this one with a printed glitter strawberry pattern and decided to use it for making a cute birthday card for a 3 year old...
My card base is plain white and I have stamped a red dotty pattern on two sides of the card base before adhering the printed top layer on it...
Using the MFT Precious Polaroid dies,I die cut three Polaroid frames and saved the center section to stamp the images....once the cute kids in onesie images were stamped,I masked them and used distress inks to cover the rest of the background...
I stamped the sentiment and a speech bubble on the middle Polaroid frame and added a red heart sequin on the other two before placing them on the card....
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card...Happy crafting...!!

How Much Do I Love You?

Image
I am amazed at card makers who are super organised...they plan so well and create ahead of time for all occasions, festivals and events...the rest of us probably just scramble to create once we've shocked ourselves after looking at the calendar... :)
And that's what happened when I looked at the calendar today...Valentines Day isn't too far now...so I thought I got to start creating a few cards for that...
The card base for today's card s plain white and I have cut watercolor paper to size for the top layer...I firstly stamped the super cute hedgehog and tree stump and masked it with drawing gum and let it dry....
I then used various distress inks to create the background...then using my Stampin Up hearts mask and red ink I printed the hearts..I also used a white gel  pen to put some decorative dots all over..
After removing the mask,I coloured in the hedgehog and stump....I placed a large heart die cut from glitter cardstock and placed the stamped sentiment above it.…

You're Awesome In Every Way - Triple Time Stamp

Image
There are a lot of card makers who stick to their own ideas and style but most of us start by trying out things that they like and can understand the process to create it...I don't know if I will stick to a particular style or create my own as I like to learn and try new things all the time...It has been a while since I used the triple time stamp technique to make a card...I was so excited when I made my very first card years ago using this technique...
In case you would like to give it a try, here is the link to the tutorial I had followed - Triple Time Stamp Technique
For this card I was happy to try out my new In Every Way stamp set by Waffle Flower....I didn't need to get layer sizes for this card as I used my Avery Elle pierced rectangle dies which gave me the perfect sized layers...
On a white card base,I adhered the two layers using a temporary adhesive and covered them with a yellow distress ink...I started by stamping the large sentiment first and then stamped all the…

Monsters Celebrate!

Image
Bright and colourful cards make me happy....and I love making these kinds of cards for children...I had made a Halloween card using the Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set last year but wanted to make a birthday card from it...and here it is...
The card base is made from a textured lilac coloured cardstock and for the top layer I have cut watercolor paper to size...I then started sponging in various distress inks for the background...and since I didn't want to add layers to this card or make it bulky,I created a mask from scrap paper to create the hills in the background...I then splattered some blue glitter onto the top layer and set it aside to dry...
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in all the cute little monsters and cut them out...going through all my stamps I found a few party hats, presents, balloons, cupcake stamps with which I could create the party look...
Once all the images were adhered to the card,I added a couple of googly eyes on two of the monster…

Thinking Of You

Image
Up untill a a few years back, the only plants I could manage not to kill were mainly succulents,a few herbs and a lucky bamboo..not that I didn't keep trying but it was just how things were...I love all the different types and colours of succulents and they are so great indoors as well...
Jane's Doodles Cactus stamp set has so many lovely plants and pots images that can be used to make a great variety of cards...I had been looking for this stamp set for a while and finally was able to get it..so many possibilities with this stamp set...
The card base is plain white and I have stamped a border stamp using bright pink ink on one edge of the card base....I then cut watercolor paper to size and stamped the pot and a few succulent plants on it...I then masked the stamped images and splattered a bit of pink distress ink on the top layer..
After removing the mask,I coloured in the images....the sentiment has been stamped on a small pink strip of cardstock and placed on the card...

Two Watercoloured Flower Cards

Image
The cards I'm sharing today are my first few attempts at trying out the no line colouring technique..I have been very curious about it and wanted to see if I could get a hang of it....I would not consider these as examples of this technique...coz I don't think I got the right results....but I did like the results and made a good couple of cards from them...

My first card has a bright pink card base and a watercolour paper top layer...I used a light pink distress ink and stamped the flower images on the top layer...then using a pink and green watercolour pencil I traced all the stamped edges...I also lightly coloured the stamped images and used a water brush to colour in the stamps...
I stamped the large sentiment stamp using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder and rounded two opposing corners of my card...I have embellished the card using tiny pink and green sequins...

Here is my second go at the same technique...the card base is lavender and the top…

There's No Such Thing As Too Many Candles

Image
Age is not how old you are,but how many years of fun you've had....and I completely agree with this quote...people who have fun in life are focused on living and not the number of years they've lived...I had made this card for a very jolly natured guy who just celebrated his 60+something birthday a little while back...
For the card base I chose a bright yellow textured cardstock and a black top layer...I then sponged in a few shades of blue distress inks on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut it out to create the  strips for the sunburst background....
Using the hillside border die I cut orange foil cardstock for the base and embossed it using the quilted WRMK next level embossing folder...I adhered it to the top layer and ran the top layer through my cuttlebug using the largest stitched rectangle die...it not only looks good but cut off all the excess paper without much effort...
I then stamped lots of candles from MFT Make a Wish Stamp Set and cut them out and place…

Sloth Thanks Card

Image
My elder daughter is a big 'sloth' fan...and I knew the minute I saw this super cute Sweet Sloths stamp set by MFT that I had to get this one for her(well that's what I told myself...ha ha..)
I have used a white card base and die cut watercolor cardstock to size using the largest rectangle stitched die...I then stamped the sloth image on the top layer and masked it using masking fluid....I left the stamp as is on my Misti stamping tool so I could stamp the image again once my colouring was done...
Once the masking fluid was dry I used Peerless watercolours to create the background....after removing the making fluid,I coloured in the sloth using Spectrum Noir markers and re-stamped the image....I then stamped the sentiment on the top layer..
To embellish this card I have used small green sequins as well as glossy accents on the image...
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my card....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Celebrate & Enjoy Your Special Day - Two Cards

Image
Today I'm sharing  two cards...and I think the only common thing with these two is that I have used coloured cardstock to create the card base for them...this year I really want to focus on getting my heat embossing a bit better(so I'm not scared of ruining my cards anymore)....and also want to practice using alphabet stamps to create my own messages on cards...

For my first card base I chose a bright red card base and a white top layer....on the top layer,I used a stencil and some distress inks to print the dotted background - making sure I leave enough blank space at the bottom for the sentiment...
I stamped the large 'celebrate' word using Versamark ink and Avery Elle Big Greetings stamp set and heat embossed that using gold embossing powder...I also stamped a lot of stars and heat embossed them too...
Finally I added a border at the base of the top layer using red ink and a few gold star sequins to finish the card..

For my second card I chose and aqua green colour…

Flowery Hello Card

Image
Hello...How are you doing??So Christmas and New Years busy time is over...now you can find the time to start planning crafts again...or do you take a longer break..??
Has the new year been good for you so far..??made any resolutions...??I stopped making resolutions long back...life changes so quickly and so many unexpected things happen all the time that it's almost impossible to keep up with any resolutions...but if you are a planner and are very good at making plans and sticking to them, then you should be very proud of yourself...
The card I'm sharing today has a plain white card base and top layer...I lightly sponged in a bit of distress ink first and then used a darker  shade and a stencil to print a pattern on it....then I randomly stamped  Altenew painted flowers using Ranger Java Bean dye ink...and finally I splattered a bit of orange and green watercolours for effect and set it aside to dry...
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the large flower and small leaf …
