Happy NEW YEAR 2017

Image
So another year is history and a new year has arrived...Wishing you and your family & friends a very happy and prosperous 2017...!!
Today I'm sharing two cards...I wanted bright and blingy and something fun to welcome the new year..so I made one very large card using gold foil cardstock and the WRMK alphabet punch board and a smaller shaker card using lots of glitter cardstock...
My first card has a printed cardstock base with a bit of glitter which is 11"x 4" when folded....I then punched out the four numbers using gold foil cardstock and the alphabet punch board...I also ran these numbers through my Cuttlebug using a WRMK next level embossing folder before adhering them to the card base...
Then all I had to do was to die cut the word 'happy' using pink cardstock, apply a bit of glossy accents and adhere it above the numbers and my card was ready...

My second card is a small but a very very glittery shaker card...I die cut the card base using blue glitter car…

Happy Hedgehogs Wishing You A Merry Christmas

Image
Merry Christmas Everyone....!!
Wishing you joy, happiness, peace and good health for today and throughout the coming year....from my home to yours...!!
I'm sharing my favorite card today..I used the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set from MFT for this card and used Christmas beanies from another stamp set to make them look Christmas-sy...
I chose a plain white card base for this card and die cut watercolour paper to size using cross stitched rectangle die...I then sponged in twisted citron, evergreen bough and candied apple distress inks on the top layer...I also splattered a bit of white watercolour on it....once dry,I ran it through my trusty old Cuttlebug using a WRMK next level embossing folder..
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the cute hedgehogs and their hats as well as a Christmas tree....I cut them all out and placed them on the card...
I stamped the banner style sentiment using blue ink and placed that onto the card as well....and to add a bit of bling I ad…

Christmas Snow Globe - Card & Tag

Image
Happy Christmas Eve...hope you are enjoying it...even if you don't celebrate Christmas,it is usually a holiday for most so is quite a happy and/or relaxing time..I always think of the emergency services employees like doctors, nurses, police, paramedics, fire fighters and such at this time and am always thankful for them as they work on the days everyone else are having a great time...
Today I'm sharing a card and a tag with the same theme....a snow globe..now when I made the card,I did not have the dies yet but I did use the shaker dies to create the tag...

The card base is a very light aqua blue and I chose a foil print DSP by Stampin Up! for the top layer for a bit of a shiny background...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the snow globe, sponged in some distress inks for the background as well as Santa's sleigh, trees and snow...I stamped and coloured in the little houses on a separate piece of cardstock and added some glossy accents on it...I also used glossy accent…

Festive Shaker Tags

Image
I had so much fun creating these Christmas shaker tags...and MFT tag builder blueprint 5 die set makes it so easy to create a great looking tag...I love the stitch details on these tags and there are heaps of other die elements that you can use for cards and other crafts...
So now about my tags....for both my tags I have used a coloured cardstock - darker shade for the base and a lighter one for the top of the shaker...once I die cut the cardstock,I die cut some craft foam as well as a piece of acetate...
I added the sequins and assembled everything....on the green tag I simply added a stamped sentiment and blue bakers twine while on the red tag I stamped the sentiment using white ink directly onto the tag and added a gold layered die cut snowflake next to the sentiment...
Thank you for stopping by my blog today....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Die-Cut Christmas Poinsettia

Image
Today I'm sharing a card I have made using traditional Christmas colours and a large die cut Poinsettia flower...
The card base is dark brown and the top layer has been cut to size from watercolour paper....I sponged in a few shades of green Distress inks for the background and used a dark green and white watercolour to splatter onto the top layer....once dry,I used an Avery Elle double pierced rectangle die to emboss the top layer...
I die cut all the elements for the Poinsettia flower and leaves and adhered them together before placing them onto the card...I have used my bone folder to curl up the edges of the petals and leaves...
Then using brown glitter cardstock,I die cut the sentiment and placed it on the card and my card was ready...
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog today...Hope you will have a wonderful day ahead...Happy crafting...!!

Bright & Colourful Goody Bags

Image
I think the most gift wrapping and packaging anyone does at one time has got to be at Christmastime...and because you just can't wrap every single thing with wrapping paper(trust me,I've tried...ha ha..),you would need boxes or bags or other such stuff...and my no.1 favorite website to find tutorials and measurements for all kinds of packaging is the Pootles blog...
Today I'm sharing goody bags I created following this tutorial uploaded by Sam last month - Tall Festive Bag
I chose the most bright and colourful printed paper I had for these bags keep the festive theme going...
Once the bags were ready, I used my triple banner punch to create two banners for each bag...on the top banner I stamped the lovely sentiments from lawn Fawn stamp set called Merry Messages..
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today...Have a great day ahead....!!

Lots Of Smiles

Image
I have recently bought a small bottle of Pebeo drawing gum in the hope that it will help me do better masking for certain projects like I have seen in a few tutorials by Kristina Werner....to begin with,I tried it out to create a snow background for today's card...
The card base is plain white and I have die cut watercolour paper to size for the top layer using a stitched rectangle die...I also die cut a small eyelet circle for the top layer.....I then carefully splattered the drawing gum on both using a thin brush and set it aside to dry completely which didn't take too long so I covered them with Twinkling H20 blue watercolour called Twilight...it really shines beautifully but I am unable to show it in this photograph...
Once the paint was dry,I was able to just rub off the gum using my fingers to reveal bright white spots that look like snow....the Xyron adhesive eraser works better for rubbing off this gum..
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and die cut the cute …

Merry Kissmoose

Image
I knew from the very second I got this stamp set called Chubby Chum Pals from Paper Smooches that I will be using it for a Christmas card for sure...and now that I have made it, I also plan to enter it in the Paper Smooches December Challenge....
I have chosen a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a stitched rectangle die...I had some left over scrap paper from a circle mask I had used - you might even call it a negative die cut, so I used that to mask the top layer and sponged in some very bight distress inks to create a focus area for the cute moose...
I stamped the moose wearing a Christmas hat on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured it in and adhered it to the card...then I stamped the Christmas light stamp from the same set a few times and coloured them in...I have used a Copic black multi liner to create the wire string...
I decided not to embellish this card but have used glossy accents on some elements to give a bit of dimensio…

Christmas Wishes For Your Home

Image
Less than 10 days to Christmas now...hopefully everyone has their plans and presents sorted....last day of the school year for my girls today and they are eagerly looking forward to their summer holidays...and I know for a fact that once the holidays start, they will be waiting for their schools to reopen... :)
For today's card, I chose a plain white card base and a watercolour top layer...I then sponged in some salty ocean, mermaid lagoon and blueprint sketch distress inks to create the background...I have used Versamark watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto the top layer...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the various elements from the Avery Elle Chalet stamp set to create a home...I love how you can use various elements from this stamp set and create a lot of different looking homes...after colouring in all the elements and the Christmas tree,I placed them on my card...
To embellish this card I have used white Nuvo crystal drops..
I…

Season's Tweetings

Image
Doesn't it feel good when you are able to hear birds tweeting...??I know it's quite impossible to find a quiet moment in big cities but the birds are there too...and you would probably hear them if you wanted to...
The card I'm sharing today has three very cute little birds...it's a stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Seasons Tweetings...I got this stamp set quite late last year so wasn't able to use it then...and because these images are very small,I bought the coordinating die set as well...
I started with a white card base and a die cut watercolour top layer...after sponging some blue and brown distress inks on the top layer,I sprayed the snowflakes embossing folder with water and stamped the top layer with it ans set it aside to dry...
On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped and coloured in the birds and music notes and then die cut them using the coordinating dies...I also die cut two branches and a few leaves using coloured cardstock scraps..
Using gold…

Champagne Bottle Tag

Image
Today I'm sharing a champagne bottle tag....I wanted something festive for the holiday season and yet nothing over the top as a great bottle of bubbly hardly needs to be 'dressed up'...
I started by cutting the tag base to size and then scored it at 2" from the top...I die cut the bottom section using a border die and also die cut out a circle from the top section...this will be slipped through the neck of the bottle to hold the tag...and just so this section doesn't tear easily,I added a stitched circle frame from gold cardstock to strengthen it...
I cut a white piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the tag base and die cut one end with the same border die and adhered it to the tag...I placed a chevron print die cut label on the tag and cut out a red tree from a Christmas printed cardstock and placed it on the label..
The sentiment has been stamped on a small gold label and I adhered a bit of gold string under the label before adhering it to the label...

The Merry Snowmen

Image
It's summers in Australia at the moment and becomes a bit hard to imagine snowfall and snowmen at Christmastime...but there is no shortage of Christmas joy, celebrations and happiness in the holiday season here....all the primary and secondary school children will finish their school year in a weeks time and are looking forward to summer holidays before the new session/grade begins at the end of January...people and businesses had already started putting up decorations a month ago...
Today I'm sharing a cheerful card with three cute snowmen...the card base is plain lavender and I have die cut watercolour cardstock to size using the largest stitched rectangle die...then I used distress inks, water and a piece of acetate to smoosh the ink onto the top layer..I also splattered quite a bit of purple ink and set it adise to dry ...
Using the hillside borders die,I created three hills in various shades of blue and adhered them to the top layer...I stamped, coloured in and cut out the …

Holiday Wishes

Image
There are so many cute and beautiful Christmas stamp sets by popular stamp brands every year that it gets really hard to choose....especially because most Christmas stamp sets can only be used for the holiday season...so I don't buy too many...but what I like doing is to use various stamp sets and convert them into Christmas images like I did for today's card...
The card base is plain white and I have used a much smaller white top layer for it...I sponged in some distress inks for the background and then ran the top layer through my Cuttlebug using the WRMK next level geometric embossing folder...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the banner twice - once using red ink and againusing green...I cut them out and placed them on the card...I also stamped and coloured in a little critter and cut it out...to make the critter look Christmassy,I used an elf hat from another stamp set and and adhered it to his head before placing him on the card...
I have used red sequins and …

Christmas Gift Boxes

Image
Every time I need a gift box,I simply go to Sam's blog - Pootles.co.uk and I usually find the right box with all the measurements and even a tutorial video....I also love how she decorates her boxes...
Today I looked for a small box tutorial which is about 4" high and found this one - Soft Pretty Box - which when finished is 4.25"x 2.5"x 1.5"
I followed the tutorial to create my Christmas boxes...the first box is made from plain dark blue cardstock and I have used a printed panel on the for the front and adhered a die cut reindeer on it...I have used a white ribbon to close the box and added a small stamped tag as well...
For my second box I used a printed cardstock..I loved this white paper with lots of Christmas trees printed on it...I have used a printed panel for the front for this one as well and adhered a stamped, coloured in and cut out image of the little elf called Rebecca...I threared a ribbon to close the box and added a tiny stamped tag for this on…

Sending Christmas Wishes

Image
I have never used Kraft cardstock for a Christmas card before so thought it would be a good idea to try out one of them...
The card base is plain white and the top layer is cut to size from Kraft cardstock...I have rounded two opposite edges of the card and the top layer using a corner rounder punch...
Using black ink and the winter sparrows stamp set by Lawn Fawn,I repeat stamped the images to fill the top layer...then using my Spectrum Noir markers I coloured in all the sparrows...I also used a white gel pen for colouring in...
Once the top layer was stamped and coloured in,I stamped a part of the sentiment on a white glitter cardstock banner and die cut the word wished from the same cardstock and adhered then to the card...
Finally I used a few snowflake sequins to embellish my card...
Thanks for visiting today...Have a lovely & blessed day ahead....Happy crafting...!!

Christmas Large Tag

Image
A beautiful tag on a Christmas present always adds to the excitement....my younger daughter loves getting presents in big boxes...and a big present needs a large tag...so today I'm sharing the very first tag I have made for Christmas this year...and it's a large one..
The tag base has been die cut using watercolour cardstock and the largest tag die from the MFT die-namics traditional tags stax...I sponged in some distress inks for the background and sprinkled some water for effect...and once dry,I stamped the Christmas tree and snowflakes on the tag...
Using silver foil cardstock and two of the largest tag dies I created a frame for my tag...I also embossed it using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and adhered it to the tag...I embellished the tree using Nuvo crystal drops and the snowflakes using tiny blue rhinestones...
The sentiment was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock...I cut it out and used some foam tape to adhere it to the tag....and finally I added a silver rib…

Sending Joy - Shaker Card

Image
When I tried out the word window shaker card earlier,I missed a couple of steps and wanted to try it out again....and what better than a Christmas card with some colourful sequins in the shaker...
Here is the link to the tutorial video by Therese Calvrid that inspired me to make this card - Word window Shaker Card
The card base is plain pink and the top layer is made from watercolour cardstock....using a pink distress ink and water on a small acetate sheet,I smooshed the colour onto the watercolour cardstock...
I die cut the word JOY from the top layer and adhered a piece of acetate under it...to create the shaker element I have used craft foam under the top layer...
Last time I forgot to add something contrasting at the base of the shaker element...thankfully this time I remembered and added a few strips of green glitter tape...to finish the shaker element,I simply added the sequins and adhered the top section to the card base...
I then die cut large deer from brown cardstock and ad…

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Image
Participating in a Christmas themed blog challenge a few weeks ago has got me really excited about creating holiday cards and tags...I will be sharing all my Christmas creations on my blog from now until the 25th...
Today I'm sharing quite a simple card with not much colours...but still quite festive....The card base is plain olive and so is the top layer....I ran the top layer thought my Cuttlebug using the latest WRMK next level geometric embossing folder...I love how these embossing folders give a very lovely 3D effect...
I die cut the Merry Christmas word using white cardstock and placed it on the card.....then using red dye ink and a large poinsettia stamp,I stamped the image on white cardstock and cut it out before placing it on the card as well...
To embellish the card I have used a few red sequins in various sizes...
Thanks for visiting  my blog today...Happy crafting...!!
