Birthday Pansies Card

Image
Winters are officially ending in Australia today so Spring starts tomorrow...yaaayyy.....what's not to like in spring....longer days, lovely weather, lots of flowers everywhere, icecreams, the beach....
For today's card I have used vellum paper and gold embossing powder for the pansy flower and leaves from the Summer Flowers stamp set and I just loved the results....
I used a plain black card base and a very light blue top layer, which I have die cut using the stitched rectangle die...Using Versamark ink I stamped the pansy and leaf stamp repeatedly on a sheet of vellum paper and heat embossed them using gold heat embossing powder...
Before cutting out the flowers and leaves,I coloured them in using my Spectrum Noir markers...I reversed the flowers and leaves and coloured on the back side instead of the front as the markers might spoil the heat embossing...
I stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink on a black strip of cardstock and placed it on the top layer and placed the f…

You Are Awesome

For today's card,I chose the lily stamp from the Summer Flowers stamp set...I also decided to create a bright and colourful background for this card...
The card base is plain black and the top layer has is made from watercolour paper on which I created a background using Distress inks...I also spritzed a bit of water on it for effect..once the top layer was dry,I stamped the sentiment on it...
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the lilies and coloured them in using Peerless watercolours....I then cut them out and placed them on the card...I have used clear sequins to embellish this card...

I have also used Glossy Accents on the anther(stamen) of the lilies...Here's a close-up of my card...

Bright Marigolds Birthday Card

Image
Hmmmm....so are these Zinnia or Marigold flowers???I always thought they were Marigolds but some stampers have referred to them as Zinnias...I tried to look up the website of Inspired by Stamping for more details but they have removed the listing as these stamps are not being manufactured anymore...
On a black card base I have used a white watercolour paper top layer....I created a couple of masks for the flowers before I started stamping...I used black ink to stamp the flowers and the sentiment and while the masks were still in place,I used green inks to stamp the leaves...
I used Peerless watercolours to colour in the flowers and a few gold sequins to embellish the card...
Thanks for visiting my blog today...Have a great day ahead....!!

Summer Flowers by Inspired by Stamping

Happy Birthday Flowers Card

Image
Going through all my stamps today, I pulled out the  Summer Flowers stamp set....it was released about three years back by Inspired by Stamping and has been a favourite of mine...I decided to make a few cards using this stamp set and here's the first one...
The card base is plain white and the top layer is a very light mint colour cardstock which I have die cut using the largest rectangle stitched die...I stamped the sentiment directly onto the top layer using black ink...
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the flower three times and coloured them in before cutting them out....I also die cut a few leaves from the Wild Greenery die set and decided not to colour those in...I placed all the leaves and flowers on the top layer and the card was ready...
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Birthday Hugs

Image
I had planned to make this card with a few layers and details but changed my mind at the last minute and stamped all the images right onto the top layer...these little animal images are very tricky to fussy cut...maybe I need to practice a bit more... :)
The card base is plain bright yellow and the top layer has been die cut from watercolour cardstock using the large stitched rectangle die....I then created a couple of masks and sponged in the sky and the ground using distress inks leaving a white space in the middle...on the white space I stamped all the little animals and coloured them in...
Finally I stamped the sentiment using black ink and adhered the top layer to the card base...
Thanks for visiting today..Hope you like my card...Have a happy and crafty day...!!

You Did It...!!

Image
It's simply great when you can make a card from very limited supplies...complicated cards challenge you but simple cards are equally challenging...
For today's card I chose a plain blue card base...the top layer was plain white on which I lightly sponged Mermaid Lagoon distress ink all over...I then used a stencil and used the same distress ink to print the pattern to create the background....I stamped a banner and sentiment with black ink and placed it on the top layer...
On a separate piece of cardstock I have stamped, coloured in and cut out the image of the little girl standing on the books...and I have used a few white rhinestones to embellish the card...

I think this card would be great to congratulate a young girl on her academic achievements...here's a close-up of the card...

Wishing You Were Here

Whether you are a new to card making or just looking for ideas to try, Jennifer McGuire's blog is a great classroom for everyone...I have learnt so much from watching her tutorials and trying out the techniques she teaches...I watch all her videos even if I don't have the items she's using as she gives  out a lot of hints, suggestions and tips in her tutorials..
For today's card I followed her tutorial for Coordinating Die Masking technique...all I had to do was stamp the image directly onto the top white layer and then mask it off with a coordinating die cut...I sponged around and over it with distress ink and took off the mask....I then coloured in the image using my Spectrum Noir markers..
The top layer has been die cut using stitched rectangle die and after the sentiment was been stamped,I adhered it to the bright blue card base..I have also used a few clear sequins to embellish the card...

I really like the white border around the image created by the masking...He…

CTMH Animal Greetings Cards

Image
Little animal stamps have become one of my favorites to make cards with these days...most of them come with witty or cute sentiments as well...the stamped set I used for today's cards is called Animal Greetings from Close To My Heart and has about 15 super cute animal stamps and the same number of 'punny' sentiment stamps..
I chose neutral shades to create the card bases and white cardstock for the top layer...I stamped the images and sentiment directly onto the top layer and later coloured them in using markers..I have used metallic sequins to embellish these cards...

Here's a closer look at the sentiment and the images on the cards..

Colourful Congratulations Card

Image
Today I am sharing a colourful card that took next to no time to create....all I had to do was to repeat stamp the large sentiment a few times...I was going to call it the rainbow card but my daughters pointed out that the colours Yellow and Indigo are missing so it doesn't have all the rainbow colours...kids these days...ha ha... :)
I started with a bright yellow card base and a white top layer....I chose the word 'congratulations' from the Avery Elle Sentimental stamp set and repeat stamped it in 6 different colours...I then adhered the top layer to the card base...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little girl image and placed it on the card....I have used clear sequins in various sizes to embellish the card...
Do you like simple and quick cards??I like them a lot....
Thanks for stopping by today to take a look at my card...Have a blessed day ..!!

Celebrate Your Day

Image
I love adding butterflies on my cards and while going through the pictures of the latest cards on my Pinterest board I realised that I hadn't made a card using butterfly stamps or dies on it lately...so I decided to make one... :)
The card base is made from textured peach coloured cardstock and the top layer is white...on the top layer I have used a stencil and distress inks to print the background...I then stamped the sentiment on the top layer using black ink...half of the sentiment has been stamped on a tiny banner...
I die cut a few butterflied using foil and glitter silver cardstock and placed them on the card...I also adhered a few rhinestones to embellish the card....
Thanks for visiting my blog today...Have a great day ahead....!!

Sending Get Well Wishes

Distress inks give the best results with stencils but a lot of cardmakers are using dye ink pads as well...I did the same with my card background for today's card...I think I need a bit more practice and I'll be able to get much better results with dye inks too....
The card base is plain black and the top layer is plain white...on the top layer I have used a stencil and red dye ink to print the pattern...I then stamped the sentiment using black ink...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the image of the little girl, coloured it in and cut it out before placing it on the card...I then placed a few sequins to embellish the card...

Here's a close-up shot of today's card...

Geometric Background Thankyou Card

Image
Not every crafter is always instinctive about colour combinations and it's ok...coz you don't have to be...most of us learn from experience and sometimes you can look at things like photographs, flowers, etc. and get inspired....my colour inspiration  for today's card was a stripy knit top that I bought recently... :)
The card base is textured dark grey cardstock...I created the background for the top layer by first applying iced spruce distress ink lightly all over and then using a stencil and mermaid lagoon distress ink to print the geometric background..
I have used silver foil cardstock to die cut the thank you word and placed it on the middle of the top layer...and to embellish the card I have used blue sequins and tiny blue rhinestones..

Magical Birthday Wishes

Image
It has been so much fun creating cards with the Avery Elle Pixie Dust stamp set...the little fairy images are super cute...and so easy to colour in...
For today's card I chose a plain white card base and top layer....I used a stencil and distress inks to print the background onto the top layer...I then die cut a rectangular frame using gold foil cardstock and placed it on the top layer...
The fairies have been stamped and coloured in on a separate piece of cardstock and then cut out and placed on the card....I have used a gold banner to stamp the sentiment and placed a few die cut stars as embellishments...

Here's a close-up of my card...

Thank You Fairy Much Card

Image
Today I'm sharing another quick card I have made using the Avery Elle Pixie Dust stamp set....this stamp set has quite a few small images of hearts, stars, wands and clouds and today I have used the stars to create the pattern on the background...
The card base is a plain pink one and I decided to use a black cardstock to create the top layer...I then stamped a lot of stars on the top layer using white pigment ink....
I then die cut two tags...one using pink cardstock and the other using Vellum...before I die cut the vellum tag,I stamped the tag image and the sentiment on it...
The little fairy has been stamped on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured in and then cut out before being placed onto the tag...I simply added a ribbon on the tag and adhere it to the to layer and the card was ready...

Happy Birthday Rainbow Card

Image
I'm very excited to share today's card with you....it turned out much better than I had planned and it's simply the kind of cards I love to create....colourful and bright...
The card base is plain white and I have used a water colour cardstock to create the top layer....first I have applied various distress inks onto the top layer and then sprinkled water droplets on it...once it was dry,I embossed it using the flourish embossing folder....I also wrapped a bit of silver string around the top layer before adhering it to the card base...
I then die cut a scalloped circle using vellum, placed the little fairy on it and then adhered it to the top layer....
For the sentiment I have die cut the word happy from black cardstock and then stamped the word word birthday on a white strip of cardstock and placed them on the top layer...
To embellish the card I have used clear sequins in various sizes...

Here's a close up of the card...

Sending Birthday Wishes Card

Image
Today I'm sharing another card I have made using the Avery Elle Pixie Dust stamp set....it didn't take too long to make this card and I absolutely loved the end result....
The card base is made from plain black cardstock and I have used a watercolour cardstock to for the top layer....I first coloured in the top layer very lightly using salty ocean distress ink and then placed the chevron pattern stencil over it and used the same ink to print the pattern...but this time I used a lot of ink to give a darker print over the light background...
I then stamped the fairy image on a separate piece of white cardstock and coloured it in before cutting it out and placing on the center of the top layer....the sentiment has been stamped just under it...
To embellish the card I have used a few pink sequins...

A Fairy Happy Birthday To You

The card base is plain white and the mat layer is light pink...on the top white layer I have used a stencil and abandoned coral distress ink to print the starburst pattern for the background...
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the fairy image before cutting it out an placing it on the middle of the top layer....I stamped the sentiment under it....
To embellish the card I have used small pink star sequins...

We Love You Card

Image
I knew I was taking a big risk today by stamping the images directly onto the top layer....ah well, you gotta live dangerously sometimes, isn't it??...ha haa... :)
The card base is plain orange and the top layer is white....I used a mask while stamping the images on the top layer so it look like the animals are actually standing on top of each other....and then I coloured them all in using my Spectrum Noir markers....
I sponged the edges of the top layer with a bit of distress ink and added a strip of black glitter cardstock on one side...and to embellish the card I have used die cut hearts from red glitter cardstock...
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card today....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Hello Long Lost Friend Card

Image
I really like how bright colours stand out on a black background.....especially if its a distress ink panel or top layer in a card....I think I will be using a black card base a lot more from now on....at first I didn't use it that much thinking how will most people manage to write their messages on the inside of a black card....but now I see white gel pens easily and cheaply available everywhere...so that should not be a problem at all...
The card base is plain black and the top panel has been die cut from a stitch rectangle die using watercolour cardstock...I then pulled out a large acrylic stamping block and randomly dabbed a lot of different distress inks onto it and then spritzed it with some water...I quickly transferred the watery ink to the die cut panel and heat set it....
I have used gold foil cardstock to die cut the word hello and a small strip to stamp the rest of the sentiment on...I have also placed two black die cut chevron bits as the only embellishments on this …

Thank You Card

Image
I have tried partial die-cutting for a few cards before and wanted to give it another try....you could look at a few tutorials by Jennifer McGuire to understand the procedure and then give it a go....
For today's card I stamped the flourish images directly on the white card base using a dark green dye ink....I used a small dots stamp and light green ink to fill up the white spaces...
On a separate piece of cardstock same width as the card base,I stamped the thank you stamp and used a pencil to create the line across...this would be the part which I die cut partially....so I adhered the die and die cut the piece only till the pencil line and used a craft knife to cut out the rest..I have stamped the swirls and dots on this panel as well...
I then adhered this panel onto the card base using a thick adhesive foam tape and added a few rhinestones to embellish it...

Here's a close up of the card so you can see the partially die cut front panel a bit better...

Get Well Wishes

Image
August is the last month of winters here and I can't wait for spring....it's been quite wet, wild and freezing in July and almost everyone I know has been down with cold and flu and other winter related illnesses...
I have made today's card using another one of the cute animal images from Paper Smooches stamp set called Chubby Chum Pals....the card base is plain black and the top layer has been created using distress inks and a stencil...I first covered the top layer with squeezed lemonade distress ink and then used mustard seed distress ink over the stencils to print the pattern...
I die cut the word 'wishes' using black cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the words 'get well' and placed the sentiment on the middle of the top layer...I then placed the coloured in image at the base using adhesive foam...
To embellish the card I have used a few yellow sequins...
