Colourful Chevron Birthday Card

Image
After watching a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire,I have been quite inspired to use stencils and inks a lot more to create unique backgrounds for my cards...
The card base is made using plain pink textured cardstock and the top layer is plain white....I first covered the top layer with iced spruce distress ink and then used a chevron stencil and a lot of brightly coloured distress inks to print the pattern onto the top layer...
I die cut the word happy using the same cardstock as the card base and stamped the word birthday onto blue foil card stock and placed the sentiment on the top layer....
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the image of the little girl and placed it near the base of the top layer...I have used blue sequins to embellish the card...
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Thank You Card

Image
To create today's card,I have just used a small stencil and two Distress mini inkpads and I really loved the result so I decided not to add too much to the card to keep the background as the hero of this card...
The card base is a plain green and I have used white cardstock to create the top layer....first,I covered the top layer lightly with bundled sage distress ink...and then I used the stencil and shabby shutters distress ink to print the pattern randomly...I adhered a thin strip of black glitter cardstock on one side to the top layer...
The sentiment has been die cut using black cardstock and I have used green glitter sequins in various sizes to embellish the card...
Thanks for visiting...Have a wonderful day ahead....!!

Bear Hugs

Image
I'm enjoying colouring in stamped images for cards these days....I don't think I can do any intricate colouring in just yet but there are a lot of stamps around with very cute images of little critters etc which look super cute when added to a card....
The card base is plain white and I have added a dark mat layer on it...the top layer is plain white as well and I have stamped half of it with a wood grain border stamp using a dark brown ink....I then stamped and coloured in the image of the cute bear and cut it out to place it on the top layer....I also stamped the sentiment directly on the top layer...
I have used a few sequins to embellish the card...

Hugs & Kisses Card

Image
I have seen a lot of card makers add white die cuts on a a white base and wanted to give that a try today....I even surprised myself with my own patience with this project and the neatness of end result.... :)
The card base is a plain blue and the mat layer is a stripy dark pink and white printed paper...the top layer is plain white and I have die cut the words 'hugs & kisses' twice using the same white cardstock and placed them carefully on the top layer...
I then die cut the XOXO using a very bright red cardstock and placed it near the base of the top layer...and placed a coloured in and cut out image of a little girl and a small dog next to it as well as a little birdie perched above one of the O...

Hoping You're Better Soon Card

Image
With the kind of cold and wet July we are having here,it's no wonder almost everyone is going through some sickness or the other...can't wait for Spring to arrive and the days to get longer and brighter...
I decided to make a bright get well card today and tried out a bit of shading with three colours of distress inks....The card base is a bright jade green kind of colour and the top layer is plain white...I used a stencil with various sizes of circles to create the pattern on the top layer and then stamped the sentiment stamp using black ink....
To add a bit of dimension to the card,I coloured in a bit of paper using pink ink and punched out a few circles in much smaller sizes and placed them on the card...I then used glossy accents on them....I'm sorry I couldn't click a better picture to show the full effect but those punched out circles really shine and stand out on the card...
Finally I added a few colourful sequins in various sizes to embellish the card...

Magical Birthday Wishes Card

Image
When I bought the Pixie Dust stamp set by Avery Elle,I already had ideas popping in my brain and had decided to make a bunch of cards to share on my blog.......but I couldn't resist trying out at least one card for now.... :)
The card base is a very light shade of lavender and the top layer is plain white....on the top layer I masked an area and filled the rest with distress ink....leaving the mask on, I placed the star stencil and printed the stars using a dark ink....I also adhered a few star sequins there...
I stamped the little pixie/fairy on a separate piece of white card and coloured it in before cutting it out and placing it on the card....I have also added a piece of purple glitter cardstock after die cutting it with a scalloped border die...and finally I added a banner for the stamped sentiment...

Sending You My Love Card

Image
When I saw Jennifer McGuire's video tutorial where she is teaching Faux Dimension With Stamping & Stencils,I knew I had to try it out....and once I did,I kept going and made quite a few backgrounds for my cards....esp with the stencil technique...
For today's card I chose a white background and a white top layer....on the top layer I followed the instructions by Jennifer to create the dimension effect on the sentiment stamp...I probably needed to offset the second stamping a bit more for a better effect...
Once the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder,I covered the whole top layer with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and then used a stencil with Mustard Seed distress ink to print the pattern...I have also added a strip of black glitter cardstock on one side of the top layer for a bit of a contrast...
On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little fox image...I have applied glossy accents on it and let it d…

HB2U Card

Today I wanted to try out a stamped yet filled up background for my card and used the Vintage Doily Stamp set for it....I thought the little girl with the message won't stand out above the busy background but I'm glad she does...I'm quite happy to share the result with you... :)
The card base is plain white and I used the same cardstock to die cut the top layer using the largest of the stitched rectangle dies....I then pulled out a few pink and purple dye inkpads and started stamping on the top layer using the doily stamps in all sizes...
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the little girl image and coloured it in before cutting it out and placing it on the card...I have used silver sequins in various sizes to embellish the card...

You Brighten My Day Card

Image
It's the middle of winters in Australia right now and it gets really grey and drab mainly in the southern states of my country....so these days if I see a bright flower which has popped up in the most unexpected of places,it brings a genuine smile on my face...
And with that thought I started this card.....the card base is plain brown and the top layer has been created using watercolor paper smooshed with some distress ink...I then die cut a piece of vellum paper the same size as the top layer using the stitched rectangle die and decided to place bright coloured in and cut out flowers on it...
For the flowers I have used my favorite stamp set - Flower Garden by Tim Hotlz - and coloured them in using Peerless watercolors....I created the banner by stamping it with stripy stamp using yellow dye ink and then stamped the sentiment on it....the adhesive is hidden behind these elements to adhere the vellum to the watercolor layer below....
I have used blue sequins in various sizes to e…

On a bright red card base I have used a white top layer...I have printed the hearts on the top layer using the Stampin Up hearts mask and red dye ink....
I stamped the images and the speech bubble on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured them in and cut them out then placed them on the card...I die cut a few red sequins to embellish the card a bit...

I'm Your Biggest Fan Card

Image
While going through all my stamps,I pulled out a small camera stamp and started to think what I could create with it....
I started with a plain white card base and top layer....on the top layer I have stamped the camera stamp randomly all over....I coloured in only one of the camera and stamped the sentiment above it...
I have also coloured in the hearts with very light pink and used Ranger Glossy Accents on all the hearts...glossy accents have given a really nice gloss finish to them...
The card was ready in no time...I like these kind of cards.... :)
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

PS Woofers And Tweeters - For My Best Pal

Image
I'm sure I will be using the Paper Smooches Woofers And Tweeters stamp set quite a lot but for now this is the last of the 6 cards that I have made using it....I have spent a bit of time on this card and created the colourful background for this card using distress inks and a fun technique taught by Jennifer McGuire called - Masked Stripes
The card base is plain orange and the top layer is white on which I have created the stripes using distress inks...I then die cut three polaroid frames from white cardstock and stuck them together and used a photo sleeve to create the shaker element which I placed behind the polaroid frame....
The sentiment is stamped directly on the polaroid frame....I have cut out a coloured in image of the cute dog and placed a few presents on the tip of its nose and placed these on top of the shaker pocket....
I really like how the colourful stripy background turned out....hope you do too...

PS Woofers And Tweeters - You're The Best

Image
The only thing that took a bit of time to make this card was the watercolour smoosh background that needed to dry....once that was done, the card came together pretty quickly....I have used another cute dog image using the Paper Smooches Woofers and Tweeters stamp set...
The card base is plain purple and the top layer has been die cut from watercolour paper using the stitched rectangle die....I then used cracked pistachio distress ink and water to create the smooshed background and quickly dried it with a heat gun...
I cut up strips from four different decorative tapes and adhered them to the top layer....the sentiment is stamped on a silver strip of cardstock and placed just above these tapes...
On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped and coloured in the little dog image and then die cut it and placed it above the decorative tapes...
Thanks for visiting today...Have a lovely & blessed day ahead....Happy crafting...!!

Today's card has my favourite image from the Paper Smooches Woofers and Tweeters stamp set....this little dog is very very cute...
The card base is plain white and the top layer has been die cut from white cardstock using the stitched rectangle die....I then stamped the wood grain border die repeatedly with Java Bean dye ink to cover the top layer....I then used distress inks to colour in the background...the sentiment is stamped and heat embossed using white heat embossing powder...
I then stamped, coloured in and cut out the image of the cute dog and the little pup and placed them at the base of the card...

PS Woofers And Tweeters - I Dig You

Image
Today I'm sharing the second card I made using the Paper Smooches Woofers And Tweeters Stamp set....For this card I used the cute little Pug stamp...I also bought the coordinating die set and it helped me finish my card much quicker than usual...
The card base is plain mustard and the top layer is white....I used the bones stamp in the set to create the background on the top layer.....I created a large banner using striped cardstock and a smaller one which has the sentiment stamped on it...
I placed the coloured in and die cut image of the pug and placed it above the banners...instead of adding embellishments,I have used a small heart stamp and red ink to stamp a few hearts on the background....
Thanks for visiting today...Happy crafting..!!

PS Woofers And Tweeters - Bright and Wonderful Card

Image
I was looking for a cute stamp and found the Paper Smooches Woofers And Tweeters stamp set...and once I started creating,I loved the results and kept going.....So I ended up making 6 cards in one go using the same stamps and will be sharing those from today onward...
The card base is plain grey and the first mat layer is a black DSP with white tiny polka dot print....the next layer is plain black and I have heat embossed the sentiment on it using silver heat embossing powder...
I then cut a wide strip of light blue check print DSP and used the stitched scallop border die on one side of the strip...I stamped the cute dog images on three white square pieces of cardstock, coloured them in and placed them on the top of printed blue strip...
Since I wanted the images to be the main focus of the card,i decided not to use any embellishments on this card...
Here's a closer look at the card...

My Blog's 1st Anniversary...YAY...!!!

Image
It is quite an exciting day for me today.....My blog has been running for a whole year now....I will credit both my daughters for encouraging me to set up this blog so I could share my creations as well as learn from the talented people all over the world....I had absolutely no idea about creating or running a blog and I feel that I'm still in the early stages of learning but it's super exciting to reach this point... :)
A lot of people have constantly encouraged me over the past year and I'm thankful to each and every one of them...
To create today's card I have used the very first die set I bought about six years ago - Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles - I  used the largest die in the set to create the base of the card...I have also embossed the edges with the same die using an embossing mat...The middle layer is die cut from white cardstock using the stitched circle die...I have used the smaller one of the stitched dies to create the top layer for the card...

Birthday Flowers Card

Image
Today I'm sharing a simple yet bright birthday card.....I chose the colours very carefully and didn't use too many colours to maintain the simplicity of this card...
The card base is plain pink and I have used watercolour paper to create the top layer.....On the watercolor paper I stamped the flower image using Versamark ink and the heat embossed it using copper coloured heat embossing powder...I then coloured in the image using Peerless watercolors and set it aside to dry...
Once dry,I masked the image and covered the rest of the paper with Salty Ocean distress ink and spritzed some water for a bit of effect....I then placed the top layer on the card base and added the sentiment which has been heat embossed on a pink banner...
I have used a few sequins in various sizes to embellish the card...

Another Cutie & Cupcakes Birthday Card

Image
Yesterday I shared a small card with a large cupcake on it....well,today's card is bigger and has small cupcakes on it.... :)
The card base is plain purple and the top layer has been created by using peerless watercolours on water colour paper...then on a strip of white cardstock,I stamped the cupcake image repeatedly, coloured them and attached the strip on the middle of the top layer...I then die cut the top layer using the large stitched rectangle die....
I have added a layered banner for the sentiment near the top of the card... I also stamped and coloured in image of a little girl from Gorjuss Mini and placed it on the card....to embellish the card I have only used three purple rhinestones near the base of the card...
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card....Have lovely & blessed day ahead...!!

Cutie & Cupcake Birthday Card

Image
I had planned today's card as a tag but I decided to make it into a card.....and the best thing about small cards is that they can also be used as gift tags as well.....
I have used Kraft cardstock for the card base and die cut it using the largest of the labels one die by Spellbinders making sure that I leave a small section uncut so that the card front is still attached to the back...
I then used the smaller two dies to create layers.....the middle layers is die cut from gold glitter cardstock and the top layer from Kraft cardstock which I have embossed using the seeing spots embossing folder....
On a separate piece of card stock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the cupcake and little boy image and placed them on the card...I then stamped the sentiment on a small gold banner and placed it on the cupcake....finally I added a few tiny colourful rhinestones to decorate the card...
Thanks for visiting...Have a great day ahead....Happy crafting..!!

Lots Of Layers Card

Image
Today's card has been inspired by a scrapbook layout I did a while back...I don't usually add this many layers in my cards but I do like to try different things once in a while...
The card base is plain white but I have cut the striped top layer the same size as the card front....the polka dot layer above is smaller and I have adhered it at an angle....on the top white layer I have die cut two speech bubbles and added vellum paper behind it before adding yet another heart print and then stamped the sentiments on the vellum...
I the cut out four strips of paper in various widths and lengths and used my banner punch to create banners before adhering those to the card....finally I added a button with bakers twine and a few die cut sequins to decorate the card...
Thanks for stopping by today....Have a happy and blessed day ahead...

Weave Embossed Background Card

Image
Hello and welcome to my blog....today I'm sharing a simple card with quite a few layers...also I haven't used embossing folders in a while so thought it was high time I used one for a card....
The card base is made from textured orange cardstock...and for the top layer I have used a brown cardstock and embossed it using the weave embossing folder by Kaisercraft....I then die cut a large eyelet circle using mauve cardstock and another smaller one using brown glitter cardstock....I have also added an aqua banner between the two circle layers...
On a separate peice of cardstock I have stamped the fox stamp and coloured it in before cutting it out and placing on the top circle....
I have simply used dome stickers for the sentiment...
