Image
I think gold heat embossing powder is slowly becoming my favourite kind of embossing powder to use on cards....I love how it instantly brightens and highlights everything you emboss with it...it has taken me a while to get a hang of these powders, but now I think I'm able to get almost perfect results...
I started by rounding only two corners of the white card base and the top layer of the card....I then stamped the roses and leaves stamps on the top layer using Versamark ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder...
To colour in the roses,I decided to use Peerless watercolours.....once the colours were dry,I stamped the sentiment using pink dye ink...
I have used a strip of glitter gold cardstock on one side and a few pink adhesive pearls to decorate the card..

Hope you liked this card.....

Image
Valentines Day is just a couple of weeks away so I thought to make a few cards for this special day....this is quite a simple card...nothing over the top or fancy....but it still delivers the message clearly...
On a red card base I have used a white top layer....and on the top layer I first stamped a few border images in light colours and then stamped the bicycle stamp near the base....I also stamped a sentiment stamp in bright red...
Finally I adhered a few heart sequins on the card....
Hope you liked this card...

Image
Tea is getting fancier these days....and so many flavours too....
This tea bag pouch is very simply an envelope created by using the WRMK 1 2 3 punch board...you just measure the tea bag and look for the correct size envelope measurements on the board...
But since I would like it to be a bit special when I gift it to someone,I have decorated it with a ribbon and string and a few other thing like the butterfly die cut and the stamped banner underneath...
The idea was shared in a very nice tutorial by Sam Hammond(Pootles.co.uk) - Tea Bag Envelope Pouch
I'm quite happy with how my envelope pouch turned out....Hope you liked it too...

Post#158 Lots & Lots of Balloons Birthday Card

Image
Stamping images repeatedly to create a unique background for a card is so much fun....its also fills up the spaces which means you don't need many embellishments for it....
On today's card I have used three shades of pink ink and three balloon stamps....
I started with a white card base and have used a white top layer as well....After stamping all the balloons,I stamped the balloon strings in blue ink....the sentiment has been stamped with Versamark ink and gold heat embossing powder...
I have used sequins to decorate the card...
Hope you liked this card...

Post#157 You Are Pretty Darn Amazing Card

Image
I realised I had a lot of butterfly stamps,so I took them all out of my stamps folder and quickly created a background using those stamps...
I stamped all the butterflies with Ranger Java Bean dye ink on white cardstock and coloured them in.....
For this card I used an orange card base and and extra layer/mat in yellow and then added the top layer....on the top layer I have used a strip of brown glitter cardstock on one side and also the die cut word you from the same glitter cardstock....this word die has been placed above the sentiment that has been stamped on a banner made from gold cardstock...
Hope you liked this card...

Post#156 Shaker Money Pouch using Fuse Tool

Image
Ever since I saw the tutorial for a shaker money holder/pouch by Vicki, it has been on the top of my 'try to make' list.....the only thing stopping me was that I didn't have enough sequins to fill the pouch...so in the end I just couldn't wait any longer and this is my first ever attempt...I'm sure I will try more of these when I finally am able to buy a big bag of sequins...but here's the first...
If you click on the link and follow the tutorial video in Vicki's post, you will understand how easy these pouches/money holders are to create with a fuse tool....
I actually placed the die cut and stamped sentiments inside the pouch, which I later realised that I shouldn't have...anyways,that was the front of the pouch.....on the back of the pouch I simply stamped with white stazon ink...
To decorate the pouch I have used multi-coloured rhinestones....and to close the pouch at the top I have used a wide ribbon and closed it at the top using a gold string...

Image
This card would have been a simple black and white card but I added a bit of bright red just to make it eye catching....
The card base is plain black.....the top layer is white which has been stamped and heat embossed with black embossing powder...I then added a thin strip of black glitter cardstock and a strip of silver card at the base of the top layer...and stamped the sentiment at the top in red ink...
I rounded all the corners of the top layer and card base before attaching it.....and finally I added a few red rhinestones on the card....
Hope you liked this card...

Image
I haven't used kraft cardstock for a couple of weeks now and I really wanted to create this particular design using both plain and printed kraft paper...
The plain kraft cardstock has been used for the card base....then there is a layer of a swirly print kraft paper....and the top layer is made from Vellum paper...on all four sides of this vellum paper I have used two of the stitched border diee to give it a bit of texture...
In the middle of the card I have placed an embossed tag die cut from cold cardstock...the tag has a die cut word 'For You' on it as well as a two gold heat embossed pansy flowers and two leaves...
The gold and lavender sequins not only decorate the card but they also hide the glue dots that have been used to attach  the vellum to the layer below it....

Hope you liked my card....

Image
I find it quite difficult with some cards to click pictures that show all the elements of the card clearly....I have clicked countless pictures of this card and constantly adjusted my camera and light but one or the other element was always out of focus...and it's only when you look closely, you will see a silver string wrapped around the heart....
The card base is plain white with a silver layer and a white top layer which has been embossed using Love Spun embossing folder....I have then placed a large glitter die cut heart on it which has a silver string wrapped around it....and then  I added small punched out elements on it as well as a 'Happy Anniversary' banner...
Hope you liked this card...

Post#152 Black & Colourful Birthday Card

Image
Black cardstock has always been a bit tricky for me to make cards from....something or the other usually goes wrong...especially while stamping....So this time I managed to make a black card with no mistakes....mainly because I did not use stamps on it... :) :)
The card base and top layer has been rounded on two corners only....and on the top layer I have added strips of brightly coloured paper made by using Peerless watercolors...
The sentiment has been die cut from green glitter cardstock and adhered to the card.....I have added sequins in various sizes all over the card as well...
Even though it's a black card,I feel it looks really bright and colourful...Hope you like it as much as I do...

Image
It was high time that I tried a confetti card myself....there are a lot of versions on Pinterest and I've been delaying trying that because I first wanted to try making a very small envelope using a WRMK 1 2 3 punch board...

Since I wasn't able to find dimensions for a tiny envelope online,I sat down with the punch board and came up with one that I could use on this card....I used a 3" square double sided paper and the first punch and score line is at 1&3/4"....

Once the envelope was ready,I stuck it on the card and covered the card with colourful punched circles and rhinestones in a way that they seem to be bursting out of the envelope....

The sentiment is stamped on a small gold cardstock banner and placed on the envelope...

Hope you liked this confetti card....

On the top layer I have used distress inks and stars stencil to create a background....and stamped a 'hip hip hooray' stamp with Grape Soda Ranger Dye Ink....I used a tag die and stamp to create a tag to decorate the card..the top tag also has a die cut word 'celebrate'....

Thank you so much for visiting my blog...Hope you liked today's card....

Post#149 Embossed Birthday Card Wrapped With Gold String

Image
After making quite a few brightly coloured cards,I wanted to make a card with a light colour theme....
First the top layer of this card has been sponged using various distress inks....then it was embossed using the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder....I wrapped a gold string around it and glued three thin strips of paper on one side...
For the sentiment stamps I used gold cardstock and stamped with black stazon ink and then punched them out using circle punches....to decorate the card I have used various tiny punches with the same gold cardstock as well as a few rhinestones...
Hope you liked this card...

Post#148 DIY Checkered Background Pattern Card

Image
It's so much fun to create backgrounds for cards yourself....and this one has got to be one of the easiest....and its great because you can choose the colours you'd like to match your embellishments...
I'm sure most of you had one look at the card and knew exactly how the background was made...and just to confirm, I'll let you know that I made it using a ruler and my Spectrum Noir markers...
I have used glitter adhesive tape in 3 colours to decorate the top layer....I also created a tag by using two Stampin Up! punches and ribbon....the image on the tag is actually a cut out from a piece of vellum paper on which the image was stamped and coloured in....and the sentiment was stamped directly on the tag...

Once the top layer was ready,I adhered it onto a card base made from marble print green cardstock....
I hope you liked this card and the background I created.....

Post#147 Glitter & Butterfly Birthday Card

Image
After using a lot of glitter cardstock for my projects,I had a fair bit of scraps left over...even though they were not very useful pieces,I held on to them until I came up with a way to use those...and then I saw  my sequin dies..and here's the card....
The base and top layer of this card is plain white.....I die cut two different sizes of butterflies....the large one is die cut from pink glitter cardstock and the small one using silver cardstock which I have embossed as well..... I layered them before adhering to the card....
Then I stuck all the sequins dies cuts above the butterfly.....at the base of the card,I have used silver heat embossing powder with Versamark ink to stamp the 'Happy Birthday' message...
I thought to use a nice printed paper to create an envelope for this card using the WRMK 1 2 3 punch board....
Hope you liked this card...

Image
It's summers here in Australia and most Aussies love to spend a fair bit of time in the water...so when I saw this beautiful paper with a surf board and waves on it,I decided to make a quick card from it....

The base of the card is a 6" x 6" square....the top layer has simply been cut to size and lightly sponged with distress ink....I have combined two different stamps to create the message for this card...

Once the top layer was ready,I attached it to the card front and simply added quite a few clear sequins in various sizes....

Hope you like this summery card....

Image
Today I'm sharing a very colourful Champagne bottle gift tag...Champagne is still one of the best congratulatory gift that you can give someone and it suits most celebratory occasions as well.....

The base of the tag is plain green and has been scored at 2" and I have used a 1&1/2'' circle die to create a hole that slides over the bottle's neck....the other end of the tag has been given a crest shape using the WRMK banner punch board...

The top layer is a panel of beautiful and bright printed glitter cardstock.....and the sentiment is stamped on a cut out from the same cardstock pack....and layered with a green and a gold cardstock layer...there are a couple of small punched gold flower embellishments...and three printed banners as well....

Hope you liked it...

Post#144 DIY Background Birthday Card

Image
This card was so much fun to create.....mainly the background....all you need is some water soluble colour and a drinking straw...and very soon you will have one of a kind background ready for your card...
I used Peerless watercolors and a Pentel Aquash water brush...after picking up the colour I wanted,I dropped a few drops of colour on the card..it's easier with the water brush....and then the fun started...I took a drinking straw and blew air over these droplets....very soon the water started running/spreading in all directions...I did the same with 2-3 more colours...
Since the background is the hero of this card,I did not want to hide it under unnecessary embellishments,so I simply adhered a die cut word 'happy' from gold cardstock and stamped the word 'birthday' under it...
There is a layered gold and orange butterfly and a couple of tiny ones on the card...on one side is a strip of gold and red cardstock...
This is a fun technique to try with kids...you cou…

Image
After trying out this shaker card technique a couple of times with circle frame dies,I wanted to try creating a shaker card with a large heart frame....

The card base is plain orange with a silver first layer and an orange top layer...two sides of all these layers have been rounded with a punch...

To create the main heart frame,I used the two largest Kaisercraft nesting hearts dies....but since I needed to die cut more heart shapes in the same size,I used Washi tape to keep the dies together....this way all the frames were exactly the same shape...there are seven frames cut from white cardstock and stuck together to create a well to house the shaker elements..

Inside the frame,I have adhered the die cut word 'hugs' from glitter cardstock and stamped the words 'sending birthday' above it...and then all that was required was to add a bit of sequins for the shaker....

There is an acetate layer glued on top to close the shaker....and the topmost heart frame has been cut o…

Post#142 Dream Catcher Encouragement Card

Image
Dream catchers seem to be pretty popular these days.... I see them in stores everywhere...also in print on cloth, bags, shirts and papers...and stamps too....

On a brown cardstock base, I have attached a watercolour paper top layer which has been prepared using some peerless watercolors, and once that was dry I used a couple of stencils to print over it randomly....I also adhered a strip of printed glitter cardstock on one side...

On a separate piece of paper I stamped the dream catcher stamp and coloured it in a bit before cutting it out and placing it on the card...I then stamped the 'Dream BIG' stamp above it and added a few clear sequins on the card...

Hope you liked it.....

Post#141 Colourful Birthday Tall Card

Image
Observing little kids open their birthday cards,I have realised that they are mostly focused on what is on the card than anything else...most can't read yet so words of any sort don't mean much...so I feel it's best to make really bright cards for them....
I started this card with a 3"x 7" white base.....the top layer is also white...I cut three layering squares in two different colours and stuck them on the top layer...I also attached two strips in blue and glitter vertically on it....
Using the cuttlebug party die set,I die cut a party hat, candles and a present from bright colours and stuck them on the squares...I also added a few rhinestones in various colours on the die cuts...
Hope you likes this card...

Post#140 Thank You For Your Kindness

Image
At the start of this year,I'd like to thank everyone who has encouraged me a lot with their kind words and appreciation....means a lot to me....

The card I'm sharing today is made from Kraft cardstock....the top layer has been stamped with tangerine ink and a leaf stamp repeatedly to create the background....Then I randomly coloured a piece of paper with peerless watercolors and die cut them with a leaf die....

I have arranged a gold string on the top layer and attached it as well as the two leaves...the sentiment has been stamped on a gold cardstock label... added a few sequins as well...

Hope you liked this card...

Thank you for stopping by to take a look...
