Image
2015 seemed to have flown by....and a brand new year has begun....Happy New Year to you and yours and wishing you the very best in 2016....
My new year card has a gold cardstock base...and the top layer is in aqua green cardstock on which I stamped various size circle stamps with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder...I then cut a 2" strip of vellum paper and used a border punch on both sides before attaching it to the top layer...
On one side of the top layer I attached one strip of gold glitter adhesive tape and another in purple...next to it I threaded a few sequins on a gold string and wrapped it around the top layer a few times....
For the sentiment I die cut the Happy New Year word twice from purple card stock and once from gold foil paper and glued them together before attaching to the card...
Hope you liked this card...Have a great 2016....

Post#137 - Gift Card Pouch For Christmas

Image
I'm sure there are heaps of people who resort to gift cards during Christmas instead of presents...I find them quite useful and practical myself....it's not easy to buy personalised gifts for each and everyone you exchange gifts with...
These are also a very handy as a last minute present....It's Christmas Eve today....where would you even find the time to go shopping for a present  now???  :)
So how can we make these gift cards a bit more special....by creating a nice packaging for them so that the person receiving it can see the effort made for them...
This pouch has been made using Kraft cardstock with WRMK envelope punch board by punching, scoring and folding only 3 sides...on the front I added a printed panel with a border punched strip underneath...I then added 3 rectangular pieces out of which the top one is a printed cut out..
To finish the pouch I added a few rhinestones and a bit of gold string...
Hope you like this...

Image
Our Christmas tree always has a few handmade ornaments on it every year....most of them are made by my kids at school...but this idea was on Pinterest and was made using the WRMK 1 2 3 Punch board...it seems to be quite a popular one as there were lots and lots of versions of the 'bow angel'...
So you simply follow the instructions to make a bow...and the base needs to be cut in half and positioned downwards...a punched circle for the head and a small ribbon at the back hang the ornament...it's quite easy to make and looks really cute...
Hope you liked it...

Post#135 Merry Christmas Green & Red Shaker Card

Image
I made this shaker card using the WRMK fuse tool and a photo pocket...the card is not bulky at all which means that it can be posted normally with no extra postage or special packaging..

I started with a piece of green cardstock 5x12" and scored the long side at 4" and 8"....this is so that one section gets folded in to create the backing section for the shaker pocket....which also means that the section between the two score lines would be the front of the card and had to be die cut for the shaker to show through....I also die cut and embossed a thin frame from red card stock to go around the die cut space...

Once the shaker pocket was filled with sequins,I stamped an image of a scarecrow with white ink and attached the pocket at the back of the die cut space and glued in the backing section of the card....all that was left was to attach the stamped sentiment and the card was ready...

I'm quite pleased with how this card has turned out....hope you liked it too...

Image
This gift bag has been made by following a Bag Tutorial by Sam Hammond Donald....it is a great size bag which is excellent for gifting jewelry etc...
I made this bag from a red and white Christmas paper with large numbers printed on it and attached an embossed red front panel to it....I stamped the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock and punched the edges using the banner punch...I added another strip in gold cardstock underneath...
Once the bag was ready I lightly sponged all the edges with red ink..
What I like most about this bag is the technique to close the box using a ribbon....you have to see the tutorial video to learn that...
Hope you liked it...

Post#133 White & Silver Christmas Card

Image
The card I'm sharing with you today was among the first ones I planned to make for the holiday season....I love this cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and it is probably the one I use most for my Christmas cards...
I started with a white card base and a white embossed top layer....and then I added a silver die cut scalloped circle with a layer of white stitched circle on top....
I die cut the sentiment from silver glitter cardstock and glued it on the top circle...and to finish the card I added a few snowflakes in silver and white...
I am quite happy with this card and it looks pretty elegant too...

A few days after I made the white and silver card, I wanted to try this design out in other colours.....So I made two more cards.....one in red, gold and aqua blue and the other in lavender, silver and aqua blue....and here they are....

Hope you liked all these cards...

Image
For today's card,I wanted to step away from traditional Christmas colours but still keep the festive feel....
So I started with a beige base and rounded two sides of the card base...I selected a dark brown front panel and rounded two edges for this as well....then I glued die cut snowflakes in bright colours onto the front panel..
I added the sentiment near the base of the card and also added a gold rhinestone in the middle of each snowflake...
Hope you liked this card...

Post#131 Letterpress Technique Seasons Greetings Card

Image
One of the first few posts that I shared on my blog was an Anniversary card using the faux letterpress technique taught by Jennifer McGuire and even though I liked it a lot,I didn't actually try this technique much...so when I was thinking of ideas for a card in light tones,I decided to give this technique a try...
For this card I chose a light pink card base...and using a reindeer die and red dye ink I pressed the image onto the top white layer of the card...on one side I added a strip of silver glitter paper and a green printed glitter cardstock...
At the top of the card I first adhered an oval punch from  silver glitter cardstock and a banner with the sentiment stamped on it...I added a few green sequins and a red rhinestone for the eye if the reindeer...
Hope you liked this card....

Image
Today I'm sharing a Christmas tag with a small shaker element.....I think that gives the tag a bit of a festive feel....
I started by die cutting the base of the tag using labels eight nesting dies from spellbinders....I then die cut about 6 small circle frames from white cardstock and stuck them one on top of another near the base of the tag....then put in a few sequins and sealed it using an acetate circle...and finally die cut another frame in blue and glued it on top....
Once the shaker section was ready I quickly attached the stamped sentiment and a few sequins and pearls ...I glued a 3/4" red circle and a 1/2" white one near the top of the tag and and punched a hole for the ribbon...
Hope you liked this tag...

Post#129 - Money Envelope for Christmas

Image
Today I'm sharing with you a money envelope....I'm sure at one time or another we have all received a bit of cash on special occasions from our parents, grandparents or relatives....usually tucked inside a card or in a plain envelope...it was so exciting to receive cash as a child.... :)
This is a simple fold over envelope made from printed glitter cardstock....I just rounded the edges of the envelope flap and lightly sponged all the edges with dark green ink...
I then created a plain band to go around the width of the envelope and decorated it with die cut snowflakes in various sizes...
Hope you liked this...

Post#128 - Happy Holiday Hello Card

Image
I loved this cute stamp set from Wplus9 called Merry Little Christmas and have kept it in my Christmas stamps folder for quite a while...what I didn't realise was that I would have to colour it in and that is quite a big challenge for me...
Once I stamped all the images and sentiment the way I wanted on the front panel of the card,I just coloured in the main image and decorated the bauble with rhinestones and gold ink pen.... for the bauble stamps at the base, I punched out circles from various papers and stuck them on....
I used a corner rounder punch on only two sides of the card...
Hope you liked this card...

Image
My daughters love to make Christmas crafts and we all enjoy making cards and decorations for our home for the holiday season every year....and this year my younger daughter wanted to design Christmas cards for her close friends and sat down with my Christmas stamps folder for quite sometime..
She came up with a lot of different designs and they were all pretty cute.....but the design I liked the most was this card that I'm sharing today...after she was done making her card,I sat down to make a couple myself... :)
The cards are simple yet pretty.....the top layer has a stamp of a reindeer as well as Merry Christmas...there are two strips of paper on one side for decoration and a few sequins....and I rounded two corners of the card...
Hope you liked these cards...

Image
I knew I was definitely going to make a few bottle tags for Christmas this year...here's the first one I made...I decided to use a printed sentiment that came with my Christmas cardstock pack instead of stamping...so the making this tag was a much faster process than usual...
The base is made from plain green card stock which has been given a flag shape at the base using the WRMK banner punch board....I then added a light green layer...and on top of that I added 3 strips of printed paper and punched both sides of each one with the banner punch...
Lastly I added a printed red layer on the top...it also has gold string attached underneath...
Hope you liked this tag...

Image
Today I'm sharing a card in red, white and green....the colours of Christmas...
I used two shades of each colour and cut them into equal size strips...I then cut along the lengths of each strip with a pair of fringing scissors....these strips were attached on the top layer of the card...
The sentiment was stamped on the top of the card and I also attached one red and one green ribbon... under it and then attached the top layer to a white card base...
Hope you liked this card...

Image
While buying and giving Christmas gifts are quite an exciting part of the holidays, there is a big need for gift bags and boxes for these presents...while some gifts can be simply wrapped using papers of all sorts, others need a bit more...and with that thought I started on this box...
The box itself came together quite quickly as it was made using the 1 2 3 punch board...to close the box I decided to create a band made from paper and ribbon....for the top of the band I created a double bow using the same punch board....
Hope you liked this box...

Post#123 - Washi Tape Tree on a Tag

Image
I keep looking for craft projects that can be put together very quickly and also can be made easily by kids.....and the best place to look for ideas is Pinterest of course....
I saw a few cards with washi tape christmas trees and absolutely loved the idea...So I decided to try it out on a tag...the tree turned out quite nice....and I put on a few rhinestones on it as well as a Christmas twine instead of a ribbon...
I'm sure my kids are going to love making Christmas cards/tags with washi tape...
Hope you liked this tag...

Image
I've started my Chirstmas cards with a simple one this year....and I used one of my favourite stamps for this card....I love this flying reindeer stamp from Hot Off The Press Inc.
I chose a plain blue card base and a white top layer for this card....on the top layer I used the stars stencil with blue ink and covered about 3/4th of the space....I then stamped the reindeer stamp in a way that it seems to be flying among the stars...
I stamped the sentiment on a white banner and added a wider blue banner underneath....
Hope you liked this card...

Image
I like making banners and have made quite a lot of them over the years...usually for the kids room or birthdays....so this time I thought to try out a banner for Christmas...
The banner making process was made simple and much quicker by using the WRMK banner punch board....you could make a pennant, flag or crest style banner in various sizes with this punch board...I decided to make a flag style banner..
Once the banner base and top layers were  die cut a  square shape using Nestabilities Labels 1 die for all the flags....then I cut out the alphabets in green and red using Fiskars cutting stencils and adhered the alphabets to the square shape...I also added two gold rhinestones on each flag....
To separate the word Merry and Christmas,I made a flag with a banner going sideways and and oval die cut...and finally attached a reindeer die cut on the top...
Hope you liked this banner...
