Shaker cards seem to be a trend that is still going....the earlier versions were quite bulky so I didn't make many and kept looking for ideas and trying out various ways to make this process as simple and less bulky as possible...

Using the fuse tool to create shaker pockets is a great way to make shaker cards but today I have tried out another simple way to create this card...

So I started with die cutting about seven of the circle frames and stuck only six of them straight onto the top layer of the card....its makes a sort of a well where I put in a  few sequins...after that I die cut an acetate circle the same size as the frame and glued it on top...then I attached the last remaining circle frame on top and the shaker section was ready...

I adhered the die cut word happy on top of the shaker and stamped the word birthday on a banner and attached it under...

I really like how this card turned out...hope you do to...

A lot of stamp sets have these teeny tiny stamps that are very rarely used...but not anymore...Jennifer McGuire has shared a wonderful tutorial to create these beautiful backgrounds for your cards using those small stamps...Once I saw the tutorial,I quickly pulled out a few small stamps and started stamping....

My card has stars stamps in various sizes that I have stamped with blue dye ink...and used various shades...darker at the top and lighter one near the bottom...and I think that the sentiment stamp goes very well with the star stamps....I also added a few tiny rhinestones....

I'm sure I'll be trying this technique again soon...

Hope you like this card as much as I do...

I wanted to try out this stamp set I had bought from ALDI...yes that's right...I had heard that every once in a while they bring out a few craft supplies...I usually miss out but not this time...I was able to buy four different stamp sets that day....along with some bright printed papers and a nice trimmer as well...

Today I'm sharing a simple note card....On a white top layer I first sponged in a bit of mowed lawn and tattered rose distress inks in the center...and then stamped the succulents stamps with black ink...this way I didn't have to colour in the stamps...I did however add a few hints of red on some of the leaves...

I sponged the edges with tattered rose ink and then stamped the sentiment under the stamped image....once the top layer was ready I attached it to the card base...added a few sequins as well...

Hope you liked this card...

Post#117 - Anniversary Card Gold & Silver

Today I'm sharing an Anniversary card in gold and silver....I wanted to try gold and silver together and see how it looks...It could've been finished a bit better but I still think it looks quite good...

So I started by stamping circles of various sizes with gold and silver pigment ink on vellum paper...once that dried I placed it on a silver top layer and it is held in place by silver and gold strings that I wound around both the layers...then I adhered it to the silver card base....

For the sentiment I die cut two circles using the stitched circle dies in gold and silver and stamped on the silver circle....I attached these near the base of the card....

Hope you like it...

Now this is a box that I wanted to make because of the lovely star shape at the top of the box...I had the link for the tutorial bookmarked for more than a year now but never got around to making it coz I thought it was a kind of a tricky box...I couldn't have been more wrong....and once you see the tutorial you will think the same...

You do need an Envelope Punch Board for this box...And here is the link to the photo tuorial - Star Gift Box by Tracy May

I chose a dark eggplant coloured paper with a marbled effect print to create the box.....once the box was ready,I carefully tied the ribbon around it...this box doesn't close fully so you have to be careful about what you put inside of it...

On the front of the box I adhered the die cut word 'For You' using silver paper and a star as well...

Hope you liked this box and will try it out...

Post#115 Love Heart Theme - Love Spun Card

Today I'm sharing the final post for my Love Heart Theme....and I have tried something different as well....

I chose a white top layer and stamped it with the Amy Tangerine embossing folder called Love Spun....once the ink was dry I carefully aligned the paper on the embossing folder....but instead of embossing over the stamped image I debossed it...doing this gives it a kind of letterpress effect...

To keep things simple I added a die cut word 'hi'  and a red heart on a kraft paper strip and sponged the edges with tea dye distress ink....Then I simply attached the top layer to a Kraft cardstock base and the card was ready...

I hope you liked this card and all the other cards and tags that I shared for my Love Heart Theme...

Thanks for stopping by...

Post#114 Love Heart Theme - Love You Card

I have made a red and gold card before.....but this time I used red as the card base and gold for the top layer...

The gold top layer was embossed using the Lattice embossing folder by Kaisercraft....at the bottom of the card I attached die cut heart border....above it I added two die cut words Love and You...these words dies stand out as I have added a couple more layers under them....

Since the gold top layer is quite shimmery, I did not feel the need to add any embellishments to the card so I just added a small punched red heart in the middle of the two words...

Hope you liked this card...

Post#113 Love Heart Theme - Lots Of Hearts Tag

This is one of the simplest thing I have made for this theme but I quite like it....

Firstly I stamped in the middle of the tag with a large heart stamp and the embossed it with clear embossing powder....then I stamped small hearts in various colours all over the tag....

To finish the tag I added two bright ribbons...

It's quite simple but I still hope you liked it...

Post#112 Love Heart Theme - You Make Me Happy Card

Here is another one for my love heart theme.....It's a simple card made using just two stamps and two ink colours but the end result is pretty good....

To create the top layer of the card I stamped the heart stamp first in red ink and then filled up the rest using slate ink.....I layered the sentiment stamped section and rounded two of the corners just like the card and the top layer....

Hope you liked this card...

Post#111 Love Heart Theme - With Love Tag

I created this tag base using the same technique as the one in Post 109...the embossing folder used in this one is called Diamonds by Kaisercraft....after embossing I created the watercolour effect using distress inks..

I wanted this tag to have quite a bit of delicate layers so I used a large punched flower and a die cut stitched border circle and attached them to the tag...then I added a bit of gold string...and finally two banners layers...the top layer banner has the die cut word 'with love' on it as well as a few heart sequins....

Hope you liked this tag...

Post#110 Love Heart Theme Water Stamped Card

I saw these gorgeous cards by Jennifer McGuire and almost immediately sat down to make one myself....so I made this card and clicked a quick picture of it with my mobile and emailed it to Jennifer...and I'm happy to report that she liked this card....yay...  :)  :)

Here is the link to the tutorial - Stamping With Water by Jennifer Mcguire

The technique is very simple and is called stamping with water...you use distress ink to cover the paper and then lightly spritz your stamp with water and stamp it...the reaction of the distress ink with the water creates this effect..I used a large word 'Love' rubber stamp for this card....and attached this section to the white card base then rounded the corners...

I added two strips of black and glitter like Jennifer....and then under the word love I added the die cut word you....the top die cut is from silver glitter paper and there are two of the same die cuts in red...when gluing these together I slightly moved the top glitter layer so that the red is visible as well...

To finish the card I punched out three small red hearts and adhered them to the card...

Hope yo like this card as much as I do...

After making some cards and tags I realised that they all had one thing in common....Love Hearts...So I made a few more and decided to share them with you over the next week as a theme... :)

Once I die cut the tag,I inked an embossing folder(Honeycomb by Kaisercraft) with pigment ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder...this works perfect for me because I do not own any background stamps...

I then created the watercolour effect using distress inks...simply dab some ink on a small piece of acetate and spritz it with a bit of water...transfer this watered ink directly onto the paper....it becomes more beautiful when two colours combine to create a new one....

Once the tag was dry I attached the three die cut hearts in the center...stamped the sentiment on a banner, added a few punched stars and finally added the ribbons...

Hope you liked this tag...there are a couple more that I'll be sharing with you soon...

I knew I was definitely going to make this box as soon as I saw a post by Caroline on  her blog called CraftyCarolineCreates.....I have added her tutorial video below my picture in case you'd like to see how this box is made...

It's a great size rectangular box....and the two flip lids meeting in the center is the main attraction of this box....it looks complicated but its not so do try this box out....I'm sure you'll be happy with the results...

I used plain black cardstock to create the base of the box and a printed kraft cardstock for the lid...once the box was ready I simply attached a flower punched pompom made out of brown paper and a couple of banners on it for decoration...

I love this box and it's been sitting on my desk ever since I made it....Hope you liked it too...

Post#107 Whimsical Dandelions Simple Card

Every now and then I feel stuck and am unable to get any ideas...usually browsing the internet or going through the blogs of my favorite bloggers get me started...but sometimes nothing works...and I just stop creating and start cleaning, organising or resetting my craft things...and while doing that I put aside something I haven't used in a while and work on a very simple project using it...

This card has been created using the Whimsical Dandelions embossing folder...I just added a blue rhinestone in the center of each dandelion and added a layered banner with the sentiment stamped on it...

The card was ready within minutes...and the best part is that I was able to get 'un-stuck' and move on to create lots of other things... :)

Hope you liked this simple card...

Most of my projects start with a plan....a few rare ones turn out exactly as planned...the rest usually surprise me....and I'm sure this happens with most crafters....but it's fun...a lot of fun...

For this card I was going to repeat a die pattern using Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Dies and create a repeated faux stitching background on various coloured sections/panels on the front of the card...but as soon as I ran the first section through my Cuttlebug...the die had slipped and the stitch pattern was at an angle...so instead of wasting time to re-cut another strip and start again...I simply used the cross stitch pattern die in an angle as well...

Then I threaded a few silver sequins on a silver thread and wrapped it around the the top panel...once the background was ready,I attached a silver and an orange strip on the side and attached this layer to the card base...

I finished the card by stamping b-day word and adding a silver glitter die cut word happy above it...

Hope you liked this card...

Gift bags are so much fun to make and quite uncomplicated too....they can be simple or quite heavily decorated...whatever you like...if you need inspiration then Pinterest is the best place for you...

To create this gift bag I used a sheet of scrapbooking paper...and mainly kept it simple...other than using a scalloped border punch for the flap...which I sponged with brown ink as well...a ribbon tied up into a bow at the front keeps the bag closed....it also makes the bag easy to open...

I stamped the sentiment and punched it out using an oval punch and another larger one to layer it...also added a few punched out flowers...

I hope you like this bag...

Post#104 - Thank You So Much Tag

A few days back I tried out the gold glitter splatter technique on a card(Post#97) and decided to try it out again on a tag....

This tag has two 2" wide layers and the tops were created by punching with a tag topper punch.....for the base tag I simply rounded the corners and for the top tag I kept the length about half of the base tag and punched using a banner punch...from the left over section I die cut another small banner...

Once the bases were ready I added the glitter and let that dry...Later I stamped the top layer and added the small die cut banner on the bottom layer with a heart stamped on it...In the end I added the ribbon...

Hope you liked this tag...

Today I'm sharing another card with a background created by stamping the same image repeatedly...and I love this paisley stamp...

Instead of a bright red ink I decided to use a deep red shade called Rhubarb Stalk...only one of the image is stamped in gold ink...then I added a strip of gold cardstock with 'Happy Anniversary' stamped on it...and rounded only two corners of the card and the top layer...

Hope you liked it...

Post#102 - Self Closing Angled Box

I am a big fan of boxes and bags which don't need a fiddly attachment in order to close and open them.....so when I saw this tutorial for a self closing box by Dawn Griffith...I had to try it out...

At first I thought that with all these angles it must be a bit tricky but I was surprised at how very easy it is to make this box...and you can make 2 boxes from a sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock...

The excellent video tutorial and measurements for this box can be found here - Self Closing Box by Dawn

I kept the decorations simple and just added two banners and stamped on the top one and added a butterfly punch..

Hope you liked this box....I also hope you will try this one out....

Post#101 - Love You Polaroid Card

I wanted to make a card with a lot of colours in it but at the same time I wanted those colours to not take too much space on the card so it doesn't look too full...

So I started with a plain white cardstock for the card base....then I die cut two small polaroid frames from aqua and pink cardstock...I attached a printed yellow and white grid print paper for the aqua frame and added a red punched heart and you word on it....For the pink frame I simply used a white watercolour paper and coloured it in with peerless watercolors...

I attached both the polaroid frames to the card and added a few sequins here and there as well...

Hope you like this card....

Today I'm sharing a gift pouch made from Kraft Cardstock...making the pouch was not a big task...so to give it a bit of a nice look I tried the partial die cut technique on the pouch flap...

Once I cut out two pieces of Kraft paper for the pouch and the top decorative layer , I stamped the top layer with blue ink using a border stamp....I then used two consecutive sizes of Ornate Frame nesting dies to partially die cut the shape for the flap of the pouch....I then sponged both these pieces with the same blue ink...

Once the pouch was ready,I made a band for closing it and attached a smaller die cut from the same die set and stamped on it...

Hope you liked this pouch...

And thankyou so much for visiting my blog...It's my 100th post today... :)

Today I'm sharing a card with no layers at all....sometimes adding layers complicates a simple beautiful design and doesn't necessarily add much...

For this card I started by stamping a large swirly image using a brown pigment ink and then added clear embossing powder to heat emboss it....this would now resist the distress inks I used for the background...I started with a lighter shade of yellow and added the darker shade on the edges of the card...

I stamped the sentiment near the base of the card and added a few tiny rhinestones as well...

Hope you liked this card...

While searching for projects and things to make with the Tag Topper Punch, an image of these really cute boxes came up but the link took me to the tutorial in a language I couldn't understand much.....Thanks Google Translate, I was able to make these tiny goody gift boxes easily....

Here's the link for the great photo tutorial By Nadine Koller - LINK

I used a light blue printed paper to make these boxes...and then decorated them with a a few punched out pieces and Kaisercraft Collectables die cuts...I added a banner with a sentiment as well..

To close the boxes at the top I simply used a brown string and tied a bow...

Hope you liked these...
