Post#97 - Flower And Glitter Card

I haven't had much luck with any of the techniques for using a bit of glitter in projects....the glitter usually shakes off.....or it only partially sticks....So after trying out lots of different ways to make glitter stick and not shake off the card..I have finally came up with one technique that works to create this splatter background...

I just mixed a tiny bit of Tombow multi liquid glue with a few drops of water and a bit of glitter...mixed it well with a brush and splattered it on the front of the card...

Once the gold glitter splatter on the white card dried up,I cut out a stamped image of a flower and stem from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden stamp set and stuck it to the card....Finally I added a gold foil paper banner with a sentiment stamp on it...

The glitter splatter looks great doesn't it??And it doesn't come off...yay....

Hope you liked it...

This is one of the cutest boxes that I've made....and yes I made this by following a tutorial by Sam Donald...it's great for holding a few chocolates or treats or a small item...

It's a triangle shaped box that opens at the top and the outside case/cover shaped like a tent closes the box nicely...and that means there are no ribbons or other things required to close the box...

I chose a plain grey cardstock for the box and a green and grey printed  paper for the cover...to decorate the box I made a narrow silver banner and added a stamped and punched flower and added the sentiment on a circle at the top...

Hope you liked how my box turned out...

Post#95 - With All My Heart Card

This is a quick card I made using the Heidi Swapp stamp and stencil set called All My Heart....

On the top white cardstock layer I used the heart stencil to print four times with different colours of distress inks...I chose light colours...Then I stamped the sentiment with red dye ink and attached the layer to the red card base...

I added a few shiny heart sequins on the card as well but thanks to my photography skills they look black in this picture... :)

I do hope you liked this card.....

Today I'm sharing a simple tag....I chose a blue cardstock for the  base and punched at the top using a tag topper punch and rounded the corners of the base...

And in an attempt to try Twinkling H2O watercolors again, I coloured a bit of white cardstock using these watercolours and die cut a balloon and 'with love' word...the die cuts shimmer beautifully...I embossed the balloon die cut and added a couple of punched hearts in red and gold...and to finish the tag I added bright red and yellow ribbons...

I hope you liked it...

Post#93 Sydney Card using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set

This is the stamp I was looking for when I found the Cityscape stamp set...the other four stamps were a bonus...

I saw a video by Jennifer Rzasa last september in which she had used vellum to create a reflection of the Sydney skyline....and I followed her technique to create the frame for this card....you can see  her video by clicking on this LINK...

The frame was made using foil cardstock and nesting dies....once the frame was ready I used two different stamps to create the message 'hello from Australia' on the vellum section....

Then I simply adhered the frame to the silver glitter card base...

I had a great time making this card...hope you like it as much as I do...

Post#92 Clear Shaker Invitation using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set(New York)

So this is the fourth project using the Cityscapes stamp set and today's stamp is of New York cityscape and I've managed to use the whole stamp for this one rather than a section of it...

I've had this idea of making a clear shaker party invitation for a while now...and once I saw the New York cityscape stamp, I knew exactly what I was going to make with it...

I started by stamping the cityscape image on the back of an acrylic pocket using stazon black ink.....adding sequins to the whole pocket would have made the stamp not stand out so I decided to make two sections....the top part is the shaker section filled with sequin stars....there is also a tiny tab section a the top where the tag can be attached...

I also stamped the word 'party' on the top section with white stazon ink...and the shaker section was ready...then I die cut a tag and created a background using the party word stamp repeatedly....then I stamped and heat embossed 'you're invited' on the tag....I used ribbons and gold string to attach the tag to the clear shaker ...

I had a lot of fun creating something different today...Hope you liked it..

Post#91 Paris card using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set

I am very excited to share my third project using the Cityscapes stamp set...The cityscape stamp I used for this card was of Paris....

For this card I chose a greyish silver glitter cardstock for the card base...I stamped the Paris cityscape on vellum paper and flipped it over to colour in the sky and the buildings with distress inks...then I attached this vellum section to a polaroid die cut...I also attached a glitter banner with a vellum banner on the polaroid frame to add the sentiment...

This card didn't need much else so I simply attached the polaroid frame to the cards base and added a few silver star sequins to it...

Hope you liked this card as much as I do...Thanks for stopping by to take a look...

Post#90 London Tags using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set

Today I am sharing two tags I made using the cityscapes stamp set....For this project I used the London cityscape stamp...

After die cutting the tags I coloured in the base section with Peerless watercolors...once that was dry I stamped a section of the stamp on both tags...

For one tag I die cut chevron pieces in blue, red and white inspired by the colours of the Union Jack...and I think the word and meaning stamp of "journey' goes well with it...the red and blue ribbons add the finishing touch to the tag...

For the second tag I simply stamped the word 'Many Thanks' and threaded a ribbon through...I also tied a bakers twine on the ribbon...I decided not to add any embellishments on this tag...

Hope you liked these...

Post#89 Rome Bookmark using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set

Starting today I will be sharing 5 projects which I have made using a Cityscapes stamp set by Stampers Anonymous....

I had been looking for a stamp of something distinctively Australian...I was thinking of something along the lines of landmarks when I saw this beautiful stamp set with cityscapes of five different cities...And once I bought it I decided to create five projects using this set...

Today's project is a simple bookmark...it is 2.5" wide and 11.5" long folded at 5" and the corners have been rounded using a punch...I then created a background using distress inks and stamped the Colosseum section of the Rome stamp on it...And then I stamped the 'Be Brave Be Bold' stamp with red dye ink above it...

Hope you liked it...make sure you take a look at the other four projects I'll be posting over the next few days...

Post#88 You're My Type Of Friend Card

The card I'm sharing today does not have bright colours or too many colours...The card base is plain grey and the top layer is white...

On the top layer I sponged in a bit of distress ink in the center and then stamped the sentiment and typewriter image...then I masked the center image and used a stencil and slate colour ink to create the background of the card....

The card was ready as soon as I attached the top layer to the base of the card...

Hope you liked it..

In this card I have used the die cut as well as the negative space left by die cutting to create an interesting look....

Once I die cut the balloon die from the white top layer,I attached a printed paper under it...I then added the actual die cut on the top layer as well(I decided to use a pink die cut for this card instead of the white)...

To add the strings for the balloons I simply drew with a gold pen...and then attached the sentiment stamped with red ink on a green banner...

Hope you liked this card...

Going through a few of my old bookmarks,I found a link to this project tutorial by Sam Donald.....I had wanted to try it out as soon as I saw it but never got around to it till now....I love how beautiful these gift bags look and the best part is that we can make two bags from one sheet of 12'' X 12" cardstock...

The tutorial video is excellent as always and here's the link for it - Typeset Birthday Bag Tutorial by Sam Donald

I loved making and decorating these bags....I tried one with plain cardstock and one with printed paper....both turned out great...

Hope you liked them too..

I like using tags to create simple cards...and for this card I wanted to use the colour combination of blue, aqua and pink...

I started with a 5" x 7" aqua card base...the top layer is a marble effect blue paper...I added four strips in various widths on it and adhered the top layer to the card...

Then I die cut a large tag and added the die cut word thanks to it along with a few tiny punched out flowers and a ribbon as well...I attached the tag onto the card front and added a few more punched flowers to the card...

Hope you liked it...

I bought the button punch a very long time ago....but I have not used it much at all...somehow I could not come up with ideas...even though this one punch can punch out 5 different types of button shapes...

So I sat down and took just one of the shapes to design this card...On a white base card I used a white top layer as well...I punched four circles on it and attached it to the base card...on each one of these circle spaces I attached four different coloured buttons punches...and to give it a bit more of a button effect, I used a thin gold string to sew through...

I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card...then cut out a stamped image of a little girl and adhered it to the front of the card using adhesive foam squares...

Hopefully I will be able to think of more ideas to create something with my button punch...

Thanks for taking a look at my post today...Hope you liked this card...

Just as the title suggests...today's post is a card in a card.....So when you open the first card...it has a pocket inside which holds another card....I like the slight element of surprise in this card...

I kept the base card quite simple in blue base and layers on green on inside and silver foil cardstock  layer on the outside...The front only has a small green label with silver heat embossed sentiment on it...

The inside card is 3" x 3" in foil cardstock with two strips of green and blue cardstock on the front...Then I attached a small white tag on which I had stamped and coloured in an image of a little girl...at the back of the tag I attached  a few small banners for decoration...

I hope you liked this card...

I am very excited to share today's project with you...Its a gift bag with an open top... and I came up with all the dimensions myself...someone else may have made it before but I did not look up any tutorials at all...this was my attempt at learning the basics of creating a gift bag of a particular size with specific measurements...

I started with an A4 size cardstock and trimmed the length to 11-1/2"....I kept the width of the paper as is at 8-1/4" so the dimensions of the paper are 11-1/2" x 8-1/4"

Then I scored the short side of the paper at 1"...this will be the base of the bag...
The long side was scored at 1", 5-1/4",6-1/4" and 10-1/2"
Staying on the long side I scored a half score line at 1/2", 5-3/4" and 11"
These part score lines will help the sides of the bag to fold in together a bit easier...

I burnished the score lines and cut all four score lines running upto the 1" base score line on the short side....then I used a strong adhesive to attach the sides and bottom of the bag...the final bag measures 7" x 4-1/4" and is 1" wide

I used a small doily to cover the top of the bag and punched a hole through all the layers to thread the ribbon for closing the bag...also added a few punched our flowers from white cardstock to decorate the bag...

I had a huge amount of fun creating this bag....Hope you liked it too...

Thanks for stopping by...

Post#81 Friends Are the Sunshine Of Life Card

When you make a lot of cards or other papercraft...you are usually left with a lot of scraps...and sometimes that scrap can be used to create new things...I have a habit of saving scrap pieces of paper as they are very handy to use with punches...

So while using the banner punch I was left with these triangular-ish pieces...and I had a printed paper which had these tiny triangles design on it...So I used it as the top layer for the card and attached those punched leftover bits on it...I kept one of those pieces a bit wider and stamped a sentiment on it...I also added a few red adhesive pearls...

Hope you liked this card...

The pinwheel punch board from WRMK creates the best and fastest pinwheels that I have ever made...I was able to decorate the whole wall in my kids bedroom in an hour with colourful pinwheels in a lot of different sizes...I also bought the pinwheel attachments so I could try making a few working ones...so easy..

Today I tried to use the pinwheel(without the attachment) as a decoration on a gift box...This giftbox was made using the WRMK 1 2 3 Punch Board and then I used a string to tie the lid flaps...I created the pinwheel and used a brad to hold the flaps in the middle....and then used a strong adhesive to attach the pinwheel to the front of the box...

I think the box looks nice...Hope you think so too...

I try out quite a few things/ideas all the time....some turn out perfect or quite good....some go straight into the bin ..while some turn out somewhere in the middle....but I learn something new every single time.....like this tag that I'm sharing with you today... :)

My aim was to create a die cut word tag and the use glitter to fill in the negative spaces....So I die cut the words love & you on a large tag...then put double sided tape on the back of the tag...then I attached a slightly smaller tag at the back...Now I had to add glitter on the words and press them down so quite a lot of it stick onto the tape and create the glitter effect words on the tag...

Now here is what I learnt...for this technique one should always use superfine glitter as quite a lot of it would stick onto the tape...unlike the not-so-fine glitter that I used...it still turned out quite nice...

Jennifer McGuire has quite a lot of  excellent tutorials on using glitter with dies etc...Once I am able to get the right kind of glitter I plan to go through her tutorials again...

I stamped a hearts border stamp on the top section of the stamp and added ribbons to finish the tag...

Hope you liked it...

I am quite excited to share today's creation with you.....It's my very own creation using the Tag Topper Punch....I have been making hook earrings for a long time now.....I love wearing them as well as making them...so this time when I made a few sets I sat down to think about how to create packaging for these earrings...

One look at the tag punch and I had my answer....I cut out long 2" strips of gold and silver cardtstock and punched on one end of the strips....I folded the top flap down.....then I decided how tall/long I wanted these pouches and scored and folded the base....I also scored another 1/4" from the base score line so that there of a bit of room for the earrings...

These pouches now needed something for the earrings to hook onto...one option was to punch two holes but that meant the hooks would be visible from the back of the pouch and wouldn't look nice...so I decided to adhere a strip of cardstock on the inside of the pouch which would easily provide the base to hang the hooks onto...

I added a few punched flowers on the front....and finally I threaded a ribbon through to close the pouch....

I'm really hoping you liked my creation.....

Post#77 Thank You My Friend Card

I recently bought two sets of really cute girl stamps by Deep Red...and I wanted to make a few nice colourful cards straightaway....

Here I used a blue card base and a white top layer which is much smaller than the usual top layers size...On the top layer I stamped a lot of flowers using bright inks...

Once I had stamped and coloured in the girl image I die cut it....I also created a dotted border on the die cut using a red gel ink pen...then I adhered it to the card using adhesive foam...I also attached a stamped sentiment to it....

I really hope you like this card as much as I do...Thanks for stopping by...

While searching for dimensions for a small milk carton style giftbox I came across a tutorial by Krista Driessen...and when I tried out the box...it was just I wanted...and soooo cute... :)

Here is the link for the tutorial if you'd like to try it out as well - Mini Milk Box Tutorial By Krista Driessen.

After creating the box I simply die cut three consecutive sizes from my hexagon dies and stamped the smallest one...I adhered them to the box using 3d foam squares....and finally a small wooden peg to close the box at the top...

Hope you liked this mini box...
