It's winters here in Australia and these last few weeks(mid July) have been really cold in the eastern and southern states....Lots of rain, wind and even snow at places...eagerly waiting for spring now....

This card was made on one of those very chilly days...

I used warm colours for the card base and top layer...and punched out hearts in various sizes out of left over scrap paper....then I added a bit of adhesive printed paper tape with the sentiment stamped on top...

I hope you liked this card.

Post#23 Birthday Tag Slight Shadow Effect

Green and blue was a combination I wanted to try....So I made a small tag to test it out....It turned out nice....so I'm sharing it with you.... :)

I have also used a stamping technique called a shadow effect.....where you stamp the image once and then again by slightly moving the position of the stamp...I like how where the two colours overlap there is a new colour and it somehow looks like I've stamped the image three times..

On a die cut tag I stamped the swirly stamp twice....then stamped the sentiment sideways...added a couple of butterflies...and ribbons to finish the tag..

Hope you like it...

I'm very happy to share this card with you today....It turned out exactly the way I wanted it to....It's a rare thing...but it does happen from time to time... :)

Vellum paper is a very new material that I've started using....It is taking a bit of time to understand how it works....but I love this translucent paper and how it enhances a card or paper craft project...

I stamped the flower stamp repeatedly on the white card topper and then coloured them in with water colours.....Then I heat embossed the sentiment at the base of the vellum topper....added a ribbon...and a couple of adhesive pearls  at the top....

I hope you like it.

I believe that craft as a hobby does not need expensive products or a large investment.....Poster paper, glue and a set of paper edging scissors were the basic items I started with about seven years ago......as time passed I felt I should invest in equipment and tools for crafting...they are not essential..but they do make life a bit easy....

I do have a few of the WRMK punch boards now.....In fact my envelope punch board got used so much that I had to go buy another one....and the good news is that they made a much improved version of it....the 1 2 3 punch board...for making envelopes, bows and boxes..and a few more things...

This box was made using the 1 2 3 punch board and Kraft cardstock...took hardly any time at all...and great result...I attached a gold doily at the front and an orange flower punched out from layers of tissue paper ...Added a gold string at the top to close the box...

Hope you liked it.

There were two parts of this project...both of which I quite enjoyed making.....This is a 3x3" note card set with envelopes which sits nicely in a small box...great for a gift...

The cards have all have a printed top layer and are decorated with various die cuts and punch outs..a few golden sequins as well..

I made the simple envelopes using the envelope punch board...

The card box was a bit of a challenge as I had to come up with all the specifications myself.....and after a few tries I did get it right and the cards and envelopes fit in nicely...

Hope you liked them.

Post#19 Tag Card - Yellow Hello

Sometimes,a simple hello from someone you haven't heard from in a while makes you feel happy....and special...and thought about...

This card is made on a Kraft card base....and a yellow and white printed paper as top layer....I die cut two fishtail shaped tags in plain yellow and white....and on the top tag I attached a colourful Hello die cut word....to attach the tags to each other I used a bit of thick yellow bakers twine...and a few golden sequins here and there to finish the card...

Hope you liked it.

It's so hard to think of cards for tweens and teens...they are kids but do not like being treated as kids... my elder daughter will be a teen next year....I better catch up with the trends and try out a few more cards like this....

I found this really cool mobile phone stamp set online and had to buy it...It's perfect for the age group I'm talking about...

This time I used a 5 & 1/2" square card base in red...I cut the numbers printed paper in an angle just to make it look a bit 'cool'....then I used a border die to give it the cross stitch effect...I stamped and cut out the mobile phone and added the stamped text speech bubbles with a bit of foam squares  for dimension.....

I have a few more ideas for this stamp set...I hope I'll be able to try those soon...

Hope you liked this 'cool' card...

The other day I saw a gift wrapped with newspaper as wrapping paper.....It looked really nice with bit of string wrapped around it....and the crafter in me instantly thought that a bright tag on that gift would've looked really eye catching...

So with that thought,I started on this tag...didn't take too long for it to come together...

A die cut tag coloured with a bit of watercolour paints(my favourite these days)...a sentiment stamp at the top...some ribbon and rhinestones to finish the tag...

Hope you liked it.

Today I'm sharing with you a card in one of my favourite colour combinations....Blue,White and Silver...

It's a simple card on which I used a chevron stencil and blue ink to make a printed background....I also used a paper mask to make the print go at an angle rather than straight...then I stamped a sentiment above it....below the print I put on a silver glitter tape and a die cut butterfly on top...a bit of sequins and rhinestones added some sparkle to it...

I like this card and I hope you do as well.

I have a couple of these Polaroid dies and before now I've have not been able to come up with a good design for them....

On a textured white card base I added a camera print paper...this part was easy...then I die cut the Polaroid die 3 times and stuck them together to give a bit of dimension...at the back of the frame I added a piece of vellum paper which I stamped, heat embossed and coloured in...lastly,I added a sentiment at the top which bring all the layers together...

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Hope you liked this card.

Today I'm sharing something different...It's a gift tag for a wine bottle...It easily slips over the neck of the bottle...and that's all you need to dress up a simple wine bottle...

I love the greenish colour of this bottle...and went with the theme while choosing paper colour...added a paper bow and a button with string....and below it I added a stamped and heat embossed vellum paper tag...

Now I'm already thinking of more ideas for these kind of tags ....definitely have to try  a few more of them...

Hope you liked this tag.

Post#13 A Simple Thank You Card

Today I'm sharing a simple card....It has no layers and still looks good...

The Kraft Cardstock base makes the colours of the die cut word pop out...I was going to use a white card base but changed it to kraft card at the very last minute...I'm glad I did...

Just added few sequins here and there and the card was ready...simple and quick...

Hope you like it.

So now you know I really like flower stamps....Here's a simple tag using one of those....

Sometimes less is more.....and for this tag I did just that....kept things simple....I felt that there was no need to colour in the stamped image and no need for any bling...so I stamped the same flower three times and left the rest of the space clean and untouched...

A little die cut word was added and the word 'with' stamped in red above it...added a ribbon on top and that's it...all done...

I hope you like it.

Today I'm sharing this flower card....I recently bought this stamp set and am pretty sure it will be one of my favorite sets...this is the first card I've made using this set...

I love clicking pictures of flowers, arranging fresh cut flowers, making paper flowers etc....so I usually get attracted to flower stamps...

For this card I made a bright background using distress inks...the flowers were first stamped then coloured in using Peerless watercolors...and then cut out and glued to the background base.
I also used a strip of vellum paper for the very first time....this allows the stems of the flowers to be a bit slightly visible from under the sentiment...

Hope you like this card.

From time to time I keep trying out various sizes and shapes of card.....Today its a circle shaped card....

And for the colourful background of this card I tried something for the very first time...I used the sunburst technique on a circle...I have tried that on rectangular and square card layouts before but never on a circle...quite happy about this...

On the purple circular base I added a die cut scalloped circle in off white as the first layer and placed the colourful circle on top of that....then added a punched out flower in orange and in the middle I added the sentiment punched out by a circle punch ....The white stitch effect around the card  was made using a gel pen...

Hope you liked it.

I see a lot of cards these days with tags on them.....and I do think its a great idea...and it looks good too...

Earlier I used to add as much as possible on to one card..thinking it would make it look prettier...only it turned out too busy for the eye to focus on anything....slowly I'm learning to tone things down and maintain a focus point in my cards...

It is a learning process for me...sometimes I get things right and sometimes I learn what not to do...

Here I've used a simple kraft cardstock for the card base and added a tag on which I used watercolours and then added a stamped and coloured in image...also added a few transparent sequins..

Hope you liked this simple card.

Whenever I think of kids,I think of bright colours....so here's a tag I made which would be just perfect on a present for a kid....or even someone vibrant and young at heart...

Tags don't take long to make...and this one didn't either....as soon as I had the colours for the banners chosen,it came together pretty quickly...

I used 2 base layers for the tag and embossed the top white layer with a chevron embossing folder....then attached the 5 banner strips....and then the gold and yellow butterflies....added a tiny stamped and punched sentiment near the bottom ..finally put on the ribbons and tadaaaa....the tag was ready...

Hope you liked the tag.

Day 7 of my blog......My blog is now 1 week old....Yay....!!

Thank you for going through my blog posts...

A simple gift packed beautifully makes all the difference...Don't you think??

Other than cards and tags,I love to make boxes and gift bags....I loved to wrap gifts nice and neatly even when I was little.....but now I take it a step further and make the packaging myself...

For this box I have used the specifications given by Sam Donald(pootles.co.uk) and followed her tutorial to make this box which she calls the Beehive Box.....Sam is an impressive crafter and a great teacher.....If you haven't discovered her yet...then I suggest you take a look at her blog and start following....you'll learn so much....

Here's the link to her tutorial...

I hope you liked this box.

Hmmm.....so what shape is this....??I have no idea.....Let me know if you do....

Nevertheless,Its a great shape for a small card....

After cutting out the base shape and base layer for this card I was stumped for quite a while about what exactly to put on it.....In the end I used circles...and stamped on the top one...lastly I added two stamped banners...

I hope you liked this uniquely shaped creation of mine.

Birthdays are a happy time for most of us...and a bright and colourful tag on a nice big birthday present would be so very exciting...

I made this tag in a cheerful mood and the end result reflects my feelings perfectly...

The die cut word 'happy' is actually in a soft gold paper ...the rest of it was pretty simple....just stamped the banner a few times and coloured it in bright colours....added a small yellow label under the die cut with birthday stamp and added a nice pink ribbon...all done...

Hope this tag cheers you up as well...

Today I'm sharing an anniversary card....It looks very simple and yet there is a proper technique that has been used to make this card....It's called the faux letterpress technique which I learnt from one of my favourite blogger Jennifer McGuire...She used various doily dies for her cards but i didn't have any so I used a word die for my card instead...

Here's the link to her tutorial...

The aim is to get a letterpress effect using ink on a thin die and running it through the die cut machine(A Cuttlebug in my case) to get the outline printed and the rest of the die is embossed rather than cut...

It is so much fun to learn things and try new techniques...and its even better when things turn out just the way you want them to...

Cheers,

P

Post #3 Watercolour Tags - Bright and cheerful

Making colourful tags is one of my favourite things to do these days....they don't take too long to make and turn out really nice....I usually try to keep them simple and uncomplicated...

Playing with watercolours is another thing i like doing a lot...I cannot paint or draw and still use so much watercolour for my craft projects...I love how unpredictable they are...and yet so beautiful...

Adding these to any gift will definitely make it a little bit extra special...

These tags are made using Peerless watercolors, watercolour paper, sentiment and flower stamps, love word die, butterfly punch and some ribbon.

Hope you liked these tags.

Post #2 Hearts & Hexagon Card

Hello again....Here's my second post for my blog...

This card has been in my head for quite a while and I wasn't sure how to use hexagon dies in my card....there were quite a few of them in various sizes in the die set and that was making it a bit more confusing for me...Using just a couple of those dies was a good idea...

There was also this heart embossing folder that went really well with the heart printed paper...

Hope you like it.

Hello.....You're reading my very first post...

I love crafting(what's not to love?)....mainly with paper...and love to create and learn something or the other whenever I can get a little bit of time..If I'm not making something, then I'm prepping things to make something later on...

There are so many wonderfully talented crafters teaching all sorts of techniques and styles with their detailed measurements and tutorial videos which is so helpful for new crafters to learn....and there is so so much to learn and try....

The idea for this blog...my very first one(yay!!)....is to post something I created - everyday if I can...

I do not pay attention to brand names and products and most of my packaging is thrown away immediately....especially stamps....For me it is never about the product used but the end result...

Clicking pictures of my creations is another thing I'm working on...

This simple card below was made using a stencil, glitter tape,a few sequins,stamps...the flowers were heat embossed and coloured in...

Hope you liked my creation...Have a lovely day..!!
